Check your cash on delivery purchases - to avoid being conned

Thai caption: Warning for online shoppers

A Thai woman went online to recount how she got some fake gold through the post.

The lady admitted that she was a frequent purchaser of things via cash on delivery and often lost track of what she had ordered.

A delivery company - whose name was redacted - had her sign for a ring that on later inspection was not what she had ordered.

She paid 189 baht for it so it was cheap, but it was the principal that matters, she said.

Thaivisa notes that a real gold ring would cost considerably more than that.

Anything to get the coronavirus threads out of page one. Can't have things like diagnosis backlog to the moon been seen by the public.

189 Baht, about 0.12 grams of gold worth.

Waste of time to write more.

And don't forget: a 2 TB USB stick is about the same price :cheesy:

Reminds me of when I worked in India. I bought a few of the 'gold' bangles that are popular over there. Gave them to my wife and she was ever so pleased.

Next trip back home she was not so pleased. She had taken them to a local gold shop to be valued (as they do!!) and was none too pleased with the outcome. Gave me hell.

COD you are not allowed to inspect before payment

At best from retailers like Lazada a full refund is offered if goods are not as described

Facebook market is dodgy for this reason - yes pay me first then I will ship lol...……….good luck with that

Obviously more money than sense. And clearly has little of either.

How do you want to check? No company allows you to open the package ...

It is not entirely fair, if the supplier does not accept the refund ...
