Thailand to designate COVID-19 as a dangerous infectious disease

 

 

Thailand is to formally declare COVID-19 as a dangerous infectious disease because there are signs that the situation may get worse in the next two months.

 

Dr. Sophon Iamsirithavorn, director of the Infectious Disease Division of the Disease Control Department, said today that the spread of COVID-19 in several countries has prompted Thailand to get ready to declare an infectious disease emergency at a meeting of the Infectious Disease Committee scheduled for Monday, during which COVID-19 is expected to be designated Thailand’s 13th dangerous infectious disease, as proposed by the Ministry of Public Health.

 

The declaration means that members of the public will be legally required to follow the recommendations of health officials strictly, to limit the spread of coronavirus. This includes 14-day mandatory home confinement for any individual who has returns from countries listed as being at high-risk for infection by the disease.

Im confused? I thought with a 2 week inc period this would have gotten worse by now if it was going to. If there was going to be a proper outbreak Bkk would be hit first. But they started taking precautions a few weeks ago. Last I read known cases in Thailand were 30 odd cases and stable. 

Only took them, what, 6 weeks? Like the Titanic already sunk 4000 m down and the guy yelling ICEBERG!

You don't really believe the numbers they are telling you, currently 35, do you, think about it for a moment, they are struggling with tourism at all fronts, providing the real numbers might kill whatever they have left of the tourist industry, meaning the Chinese might stop coming.....lol

Someone finally got the Chinese warning of the virus translated...soon finger pointing among the MPs...Future Forward will be blamed for the entire fiasco...

I agree with you it seems very hard to believe the numbers with so many people in close contact and so many Chinese visitors here. You would expect a similar infection rate growth % (not amount of people) as in China. Like most things here just doesn't make any sense

Just in time to quarantine the people when they eradicate the Future Forward infection reeking havoc in the Thai style democratic process.

There is an old saying, "feed them what you want, as long as it's sweet, they'll eat it"

 

Bookmark the link at the very bottom and check it daily as I do, on the top left you can see how many people are "reportedly infected" in what country, to the right how many have passed and how many have recovered, that said, we all know the likely of more being infected is highly likely, as would be the deaths, i.e. if you believe anything China says/reports, similar to here, but at least it's something to work on and keep up to date.

 

Also on the left are the countries infected and the amount of people, "others" are cruise ships, you can click on all of them as you scroll down and it tells you how many are infected and have recovered and or passed.

 

Look at the number of close by Asian countries there are to Thailand, and Thailand only reports that 35 people have been infected with 15 recovered and no deaths.

 

Me thinks it's BS, just my opinion, so lay low, wash those hands and "don't touch a you face" mate ????

Seems like these are often in the news: Malaria. Dengue. Japanese Encephalitis. Leptospirosis. Hep A. Hep B. HIV. TB. Influenza.

I have never believed anything the government said, since the numbr of people infected

went quickly to 32, then magically stopped, until finally 3 more were admitted to. Hog wash!

  It just shows that the honesty stopped as well. Some day some hospitals will tell the truth

and the numbers will be a lot more.  Shame on all these liars, who have totally lost their faces long ago.

No, not at all. Just think about it. This is what they call having 100 % control over the situation. See, they can with certainty predict it´s going to get worse. ????

About what Prayuth and POTY2019 is telling us? Yeah, most of us already knows how much trust we can put in such information.

Gradually we keep hearing these little hints that things might not be good.

Numbers have been continually cited at 35 cases & of those some have been released.. so why would things suddenly get worse?

  We both know the answer to that.  It's already worse.  

This  statement has nothing at all to do with the spread of Covid19 in other Countries. It does  however, have everything to do with the spread of International mistrust in the Thai reaction to the Virus.
