Trump doesnt care about the virus. He only cares about the stock market.

trump's attempt at re-assuring the stock market at his Wednesday press conference has completely failed. Looks as though trump's credibility is rock bottom.

Sounds like an excellent plan. It is easy to be impressed by Mike Pence, his cool and calm demeanor, and close relationship with Trump inspires much confidence. With this virus emergency looming large

  • You do know he gutted the cdc rite lol ho ho ho best laugh I’ve had today

  • Let's put an anti-science Evangelical in charge of a virus outbreak. Good plan!

Wrong. Markets always over react plus normal profit taking.

Another 3 months the scare is over.

Trump wins easy. There is no opposition.

The man could not even get the numbers correct in the broadcast I heard, is he illiterate or fails to understand information from advisors, or are they of the same ilk as him on all levels?

The mortality rate for the flu is 0.1% of the population, for corona virus its 2%

How easily a virus spreads is known as the "basic reproduction number," or R0, the RO for the flu is 1.3, the RO for corona is 2.2.

Corona kills ten times more people and the rate of transmission is double.

So far not much experience with Corona in the west.

I still think the scare is way, way overdone.

Having said that, pence is an excellent choice. If it blows over the administration had done great, if it turns out to be bad the scapegoat is there. In the former case, I think he'll find another way to get rid of pence.

After Italy, It's now starting in France......

To those who yet again turn to bashing Trump over the virus

can you name one leader who has gotten on top of it?

Anyone?

They have all failed....how do you control something like the in a world that is so connected?

You could just ban everyone in and out....immediately. But then be prepared for retaliation that affects your economy.

The actual mortality rate won't really be figured out until the Covid-19 epidemic is almost over. I have seen estimates run from 2% all the way to 15%.

By my own calculations, the mortality rate is currently around 4%. Which seems to be confirmed by a number of sources. Of course this can change due to better treatments and diagnosis.

If you really want to get into the weeds, here is a good place to start:

Get it to spread fast, I think the health effects will be much more limited than the social media let us to believe.

Oh dear, simplistic things need to be explained yet again.

World leaders are struggling to get on top of it so are piling in resources to help.

Trumps answer to try and get on top of it is to pull resources away from it and pretend everyone else is to blame.

Even worse, he is contradicting advice from the experts. Why would one of his followers wash his hands, when the dear leader has just told them there is no need.

Just imagine....it takes a president of a country to tell you to wash your hands and not rub your eyes or dig your nose

or pick your teeth after touching a public fixture. Does he need to tell you to brush your teeth at bed time as well...or you won't? ????

No it says a lot abut YOU....trying to rake his good name in muck over nothing.

He's already taken many steps to keep the borders safe from infected people.

The democrats are just trying to score political points and cause more panic to

drag the economy down and deprive him of a re-election talking point.

However it isn't going to work.

With this virus emergency looming large it is reassuring that Trump and Pence are in charge, more so after seeing the utter chaos, depravity and gutter politics at the democrat debates - it does hammer the point home. The world is lucky to have these 2 at the helm during this storm. Good luck to all of us in overcoming the corona challenge.

Trump is hoping no-one will notice he has cut funding for the Center for Disease Control, and other health infrastructure which is responsible for dealing with epidemics. Tax cuts for the wealthy is his priority. But don't let facts get in the way of your blinkered vision.

Lucky to have these 2 at the helm? You'll be lucky to avoid a US pandemic.

Morrison, the PM in Australia has gazumped the WHO. 14 day quarantine on travelers from mainland China, bans on the Iranians after their outbreak. I was questioned extensively by a Border Force official when I landed in Australia from Thailand on February 5.

You are kidding yourself if you think Trump is doing more than going through the motions.

China manufactures over 90% of the world's antibiotics. His trade wars that are easy to win are looking a bit anemic.

WOW. The anti-Trump world has gone full rogue. Real world, last few days, including foreign (non msm) news sources.

WHO official leads criticism of Trump's coronavirus response

Quote

Ezekiel Emanuel, special adviser to the director general of the World Health Organization, told MSNBC Wednesday he found "most" of what President Trump said at his briefing on the novel coronavirus "incoherent."

Well, most of what the Reality TV Con Man says is typically incoherent.

Lots of mulling, eyeing and considering there. The only action has been in the past, discontinuing emergency services set up for an event like this.

Just got to love msm.

What Ezekiel really said was "much" of what Trump said was a little incoherent, saying he does not know what most medial doctors know. Well, duh.  msm +1

But who is Ezekiel Emanuel? He's the architect of Obamacare, did msm tell you that? msm +2. Aside from the fact he also has a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy. msm+3.

Typical hyperbolic response.  What can be done is to get working, reliable testing kits to every hospital in the country so that when someone comes in with the sniffles they don't infect the staff who then in turn infect other vulnerable patients who could easily die from this virus.  When that happens the hospitals become points of infection not places where people go to be taken care of.

What doesn't need to be done is keep everyone in the dark over the actual numbers by not testing or to pull out the worn out playbook of gaslighting and blaming everyone else except himself and the incompetent administration he hand picked based on who strokes his ego the most.  Man up.  Take a little bit of responsibility and build a united front to minimize the impact.

Relax...it's only a hoax

However it isn't going to work.

You mean like allowing HHS staff to greet potentially infected evacuees from Wuhan without protective gear or training and then allowing those workers to run willy nilly within the US?  Or is the whistleblower just another "Deep State" cretin with an axe to grind?

I think we've had it with so -called Dem 'whistleblowers' by now....haven't we?

Anonymous shady operatives who can say whatever they want without proof.

And then punt it to the media who blow it into a full blown panic.
