Drama in Bang Saen: Thai man hauled off to the cells after creating havoc at banks in shopping center

Police were called after a 27 year old Thai man went berserk in the Laemtong shopping center in Saensuk district of Chonburi yesterday.

 

Noppadol hurled a glass in the Thanachart Bank on the first floor. 

 

As police arrived he went to attack a security guard at the Siam Commercial Bank next door. He was armed with a folding knife.

Police managed to restrain him and took him away to the cells to calm down. 

 

He was charged with having a knife as a weapon in a public place and assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest. 

 

Daily News reported that the incident caused a considerable stir at the shopping center.

Completely understandable given the way they operate at times. One bank mentioned did me out of 40k baht and then double charged on a transfer fee, complaints got nowhere.

Bang Saen is a Thai resort that is completely lawless.  Mind you, I only ever went at weekends when Thai police don't work.
