PHUKET: Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana has announced that he has closed the four COVID-19 quarantine zones he proclaimed only last Friday – but added that he has opened a new quarantine zone at a secret location in Phuket where five Thais who returned to Phuket from South Korea on Saturday are now being held under observation.

Speaking at a meeting of the Phuket Communicable Disease Committee yesterday (Mar10), Governor Phakaphong said that the five Thais were working illegally in South Korea. They landed at Phuket International Airport on Saturday.

“None of them showed any symptoms of being infected with the coronavirus, but they are now in quarantine under observation by doctors. They will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days,” Governor Phakaphong said.

That's scary, why does it have to be a secret spot??

"It's for your own protection".Sound familiar?Or maybe you would like "It's a matter of National Security"?Or maybe "It's to instill confidence in the system".It's a perfect time to introduce dracanian measures to maintain "100% control".

So these 5 have been openly on a plane, without having been checked prior to their departure ?

Everything 100 % under control.

To avoid friends or relatives arriving to facilitate absconding. There are many who believe that if they make merit, or wear an amulet, or wear a 7-11 mask etc. that they will magically be protected from infection. It also acts to protect those being held. Arriving back in Thailand after working illegally usually means that Mr.  Tong will be waiting with his henchmen to collect an outstanding debt. people who are in fear for their lives tend to flee.

So what's the reason for a 'secret' place then?

More than 70% in BKK doesn't wear a mask, and i still don't understand why it has to be a secret place, it only puts Thailand back in the list of scary junta countries in the view of the West.

To me, the scariest thing about this virus, other than it can really mess you up, is Thailand has reported very few deaths, yet there was really nothing done to screen or or isolate those that have.

How can this be?
