Quick call to the sign writer to change name from XXXX bar to XXXX bar/restaurant, and put a few sandwiches on show for sale !

  • It will take more than disinfectant to clean that place.

It’s not about virus going away but about containing it so it does not spread

...and whilst the Government was doing all it could to prevent the spread of Covid-19 for the benefit of the masses and the future of the country, the naive, greedy and stupid were plotting how they cold bend the rules for their own amusement...

2 week closure, perhaps longer, will negatively affect my friends, Thai and Foreigners, who own bars.

It sucks for me too: I'm stuck in Korea and with the air travel rules for entering Thailand it's not pleasurable to travel from here to LOS.  Most bars and nightclubs here have temporarily closed, same same with restaurants; not sure about massage shops since they are too expensive (>KRW90,000 per) for me to visit.

A 2 week temporary closure will not bring in money but the WISE business man/woman will use the time to improve their business, e.g., clean, sanitize, make repairs/improvements, evaluate current and future inventory, add credit card machines, etc.

I emphasize the wise business man/ woman will see this time as an opportunity to benefit their businesses and livelihoods.

Nope, because the money which goes up the chain must be satisfied, without fail.  The brown envelopes will still be required from those who provide them.

Same same here in Korea.

It is not intended to stop the virus, just slow the spread.

What we do today  will show results in 7-14 days.

If not successful, you will see people piled up at hospitals, dying.

I think this will be a good excuse for a lot of bars that struggle during low season to close down and send staff home and blame the COVID19 and then open during high season again .. it make sense

An interseting use for the word 'hardcore' there.

No. Pandemics spread in waves, and the idea behind this is to keep the amplitudes low in a given are while taking the risk that other areas get infected. Like the Issan where most bar girls come from, and where they have to go back to if no customers come.

Yeah, but you have 2 of the things Pattaya Crusties can't live without - beer and aging whores past their prime.

...assuming you can buy Chang vests at the local market for 100baht, they will fit in perfectly.

Obviously there must be a big party on April 1st or is it "Fooled ya - we meant end of May".......LOL

You just say that because you don't want anybody else to come :cheesy:

I just spoke to my wife on the phone.  It seems that the Chinese whispers of the virus originating from the US and planted on the Chinese are now doing the rounds.  She saw this on the news! This government are truly stuck in China’s pocket.

Who cares?

Farangs are so addicted to the sight of sweet bar girls that business will go on for a while, even if the Farang is in Farangistan.

Addiction is a terrible affliction and Sex Addiction is no different. Addicts, or sexpats will not let a flu stop their need to "score".

Likewise, the sex workers will not care, due to poverty or being forced to pay money to pimps, family etc.

I hope someone has the sense to arrest those prostitutes hanging out near the beach.
