Quick call to the sign writer to change name from XXXX bar to XXXX bar/restaurant, and put a few sandwiches on show for sale !

  • It will take more than disinfectant to clean that place.

They are trying To limit the spread before songkran as many people will return home for the holidays as the the whole country will be infected. I would say after Songkran you will see a spike in new cases outside of Bangkok.

Is this the only government in Thailand to shut down the fun twice?

I'm glad they've done this. With the Government ordering closure of entertainment venues in Bangkok, Pattaya had to follow suit. If they didn't, imagine the exodus from the capital down to us at the weekend! This would have guaranteed to spread the virus here.

It’s again head in the sand .. It should be lockdown everywhere ... Beware the ides of March and the cry bring out your dead

Thailand lock down and produce masks, I didn’t see masks in 711 for a while.

People should probably start to update their thinking about this.

It's not a hoax.

It will likely infect the majority of people on the planet.

It could take two years to do so.

The international response is way past any hopes of fully stopping the spread. That is impossible.

The plan is to slow it down so that health systems aren't overwhelmed during a short period of time which will mean many people dying that didn't need to as happened in China, Iran, and Italy. The USA and Thailand will both probably be the next Italy because both waited too long to properly respond.

For those in high risk groups to die from this and yes that includes me you need to try hard to avoid being infected before there is a vaccine which likely won't happen for 18 months.

Have you been living under a rock???.......Songkran is postponed identify next month. Nobody is going  up to Issan.  For many of Bangkok and Pattaya sex workers, the buses to Issan will be full tonight

I just spoke to my wife on the phone.  It seems that the Chinese whispers of the virus originating from the US and planted on the Chinese are now doing the rounds.  She saw this on the news! This government are truly stuck in China’s pocket.

Thai research has shown covid-19 to be a mutation of the SARS virus and mutating rapidly with about 49 strains having been identified so far.

Of course people are not interested in research, conspiracy theories are far more interesting.

The only thing here that is exponential is fake news.

Somehow I don't think that go-go dancers in hazmat suits is going to be the next big thing!

If not successful, you will see people piled up at hospitals, dying.

You mean like the UK, a country with a similar population size, in the last 24 hours deaths there have risen from 35 to 71.

Oh I dunno, it could give you something to grapple with - as long you have a can opener with you.

Addiction is a terrible affliction and Sex Addiction is no different. Addicts, or sexpats will not let a flu stop their need to "score".

Likewise, the sex workers will not care, due to poverty or being forced to pay money to pimps, family etc.

I hope someone has the sense to arrest those prostitutes hanging out near the beach.

And if they have no customers & no money for a bag, then robbery & other crimes will increase dramatically.

So everyone must be extremely careful.

14 days is a start, it will continue if need be... don't be quick to knock-it.

Actually, according to the experts sexual addiction is a mental disorder. needless to say, there are a LOT in denial in a place like Pattaya.

The needs of the "manny" outweigh the needs of the few

and on a different note, I have heard that scientists in Australia have discovered that some already existing drugs are proving very effective against this virus

dirty farangs must install an app to ensure they shower at least once a week

I've personally confirmed with Anutin that I shower every Friday whether I need to or not!

Well there was a lot of wishful thinking from some people in Pattaya thinking they would be exempt from closing after it was announced it was happening in Bangkok

I wonder how many longterm pattaya dwellers are over 60 and at more risk?

The drains need to be cleaned as a start! As you walk down some Soi(s), the smell is terrible! Also, in some soi(s), the drains, covered by open grates, show muck close to the surface. I'm sure bacteria thrive there!

I would assume that the vendors, taxi drivers, and businesses dumping left-over food, etc, is a big part of that!
