I am here with a Non 0 (retirement) from a foreign general consulat. The visa expires on 27th June, permission to stay stamp expires 11. April. As borders around are closed and returning to Thailand is unsure I am planning to stay and ask the local immigration here for a permission to stay for one year. Options:

1. At present I have not sufficient funds in my Thai bank account. I can manage to send enough from abroad but in this case the money is not here for the required three months.

2. I can prove money transfer for this and next month of more than 65.000 Baht. Question is: How many money transfers will I have to show. Is one or two enough? How many are required? Anybody knows this?

For the very first extension only proof of 2 x foreign transfers of 65K required, although the odd IO still request 3 months proof.

For subsequent extensions a full year is required.

1. When using the money-in-bank method your 800K (foreign origins proven) only needs to be 2 months on your thai bank-account on the day you apply for your extension.

2. See response from Tanoshi above.

For better understanding I want to make it clear that I have no two months left for the 800.000 Baht requirement as my time here is running out on 11. April and I either have to leave the country (which seems to be impossible) or to apply for a "one year extension of stay". So I focus on the income option and the question is how many money transfers they want to see. I already got one above 65.000 Baht this month and can arrange one for the early days in April.

Normally two transfers of at least 65.000 THB with foreign origins proven (one this month, and one in April) would be sufficient to apply for the 1-year extension of your Non Imm O - retirement Visa.

But as Tanoshi already pointed out there are some rogue IOs that require 3 months proof.  So better check with your local IO to avoid any unpleasant surprises when applying.

And for first extension based on marriage, 40k transfers for 3 months?
