What is the situation please.I have a friend whose visa expires soon.

If crossing a Mae Sai-Tachkilek in Myanmar , in the past they would not let you out if not allowed back.

A few days ago there were health questionaires on Burma-Mynamar side

The border is one of 2 allowed open according to C Rai newspaper as the only province with 2 nations Laos and Myanmar.

Yesterday's news said open

So would a health chack done same day be adequate?

Does it have to be at a Thai government hospital as I doubt they would have same day results

I called Overbrook Hopsital who cannot be sure on the new regulations nor test return dates at present

Is a test form a private clinic acceptable or one done while in Burma-Mynamar

Avoid  spend more than the 10m necessary in Burma-Mynamar after the news below of sick people 'trapped in Burma"

The border area queues and adjacent market ae always very crowded and last time there were about 20 people in the 4x4 booth Burma foreigners immigration room crammed like sardines.

If overstay without a black mark /ban becomes an option seems safest to just self isolate.

At this time you cannot do a border hop at any border crossing.

Myanmar has closed its border crossing to everybody but those from Myanmar. Entries with a valid visa are only allowed at the 3 airports.

You only need a medical certificate and corvid 19 insurance when boarding a flight to here from anywhere at this time.

You have the option to apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife at your local immigration office and then possibley a 30 day extension after that if needed.

If caught with an overstay you could be deported and banned from entering the country. For more than 90 days if not caught it is a one year ban.

Interesting I know Nong Khai open trade not people from contacts in laos.

Is this the same for all Laos borders. Who has closed Laos border the Thai or Laos authorities I have looked online and was told Mae Sai was open yesterday but I am sure you are better informed ?

I realize its a dynamic and ever changing situation, once nation sealed and airports closed overstay will be hos only option on 2nd extension of METV , immi said he can have 7 days but if cannot fly home what to do ?

PS from your post does it mean Cambodia also closed?

It may be possible but you would have to find a border crossing that is still open and is issuing visas on arrival.
