And each and every one of those people getting on to a Bus, could potentially carry Covid 19 back to their Villages and Communities.

Communities where many of the inhabitants are Older Generation people, who also care for many of their grandchildren while the parents work away in Bangkok and such places. Communities where the Health care is much poorer than in the Cities

These are the people that are in the highest risk groups of Citizens in the Country, and all their loved ones can think of doing is to actually kill them through selfishness, ignorance and sheer stupidity.

I hope they can live with themselves after this.

IMO the government thinking might be it is preferable for the poor to go back to their villages, rather than have food riots in Bangkok.

Bear in mind the ignorance and stupidity you condemn is fostered by the Thai education system.

i got to say one of the things trending on tweeter in Thai does not bode well right now. people are angry.

i feel horrible for all these people. But I think for Thailand this has now defaulted to the "herd" approach. if you get sick, fine, deal with it. If you die, too bad.

better than crashing your economy beyond recovery, how many victims will that claim.  martial law in 19 states now in usa, with troops on the streets. To protect and serve of course. This is planned global economic destruction on the basis of protecting you from the flu. The media fear porn did a good job.

oct 2019, Event 201, Bill gates Foundation, WHO, and World Bank ran a simulation, guess what, a global Pandemic featuring the cornholio, and here we are, 5 months later

Well governments have to do “something” otherwise they look worse than pointless. But no surprise that taking away work for millions of poor people gets them on the move. Just a question of whether this state of affairs is worse than otherwise.

I just have 2 issues. I use Celsius and I don't know where to find cedar wood in Thailand.

Nearest natural cedars are in the Himalayan foothills, I think, but your I have solutions to your issues:

1) Anything above 100°C is close enough.

2) Any wood or fuel that can burn to heat your water to 100 °C will have to be close enough.

* Suggest additional filtering, pre and post boiling, light clean cotton materials (hankies socks etc) are better than nothing if you don't have proper filters. Use water water purification tablets if you have them - most taste yukky tho.

But this year it was not the Thai holidays that was causing the mass exodus but the fact that much of Bangkok has simply been shut down for 22 days to try and limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Songkran was being voiced as cancelled, this is the substitute Thai holiday... came earlier than expected this year.

All those now banned from work will take the opportunity to go home... hopes of containing the virus just went out the window!!

No social distancing at the station or on the coaches, no hope of isolation at home with family gatherings, food & beer parties at home... all in one room!

This government is comparable to that of France or Italy.
Instead of confining Bangkok by prohibiting all types of transport to the outside of the megalopolis; they turn on the tap ???? so that all of Thailand will be infected.

Great art!

dont forget usa   and the trump virus

With not testing kits, hospital beds or PPE fro health workers, poor logistcal planning. Well no planning

The words "planning" and "Thailand" are two words I seldom see used together, unless it involves a party (i.e. wedding, monk celebration, or some other "sanuk" activity).

I'm not sure it was really possible to plan for this s**storm, one day working next on the street and many on a basic wage with minimal rights.A little humility is called for in these interesting times.

The government offed no help with rents nor living expenses as in Europe which may have stemmed the exodus so what else did they expect. No jobs no money. I do believe that the so called cure will be more devastating to the populous than the disease. After all it would seem that if the statastics are correct and true, Thailand has the best rate of recovery in the world with only one death.

In the US in 2017-18 more than 61,000 died from influenza and some state up to 80,000. That being the case, the infrastructure of the whole country is to be destroyed many millions of businesses close and many millions made unemployed especially from the poorer class who now have no incomes, what is going to happen next Mr. Anutin and Prayut do you in your collective wisdom think?

Great planning by the big heads. So massive outbreak is to be expected in the provinces. Then once BKK is contained all to return to bring back the virus.

Really really well planned and executed by the experts running the show .

if anythif anything , Anutin should be nominated for Nobel awards

if anything , Anutin should be nominated for a Nob award.

There - that sounds better, doesn't it?

TV members aren't blaming the workers, but the govt for being so incompetent & letting the exodus happen.

Was it that wearing masks, unless you have the virus, is not recommended ... WHO advice!

That's correct, the area between the mask and your face providing a nice warm, moist environment ideal for viral propagation, same with gloves, .. but people don't know science anymore, don't think for themselves and rationalise. People are scared and looking for direction, unfortunately they are usually fed misdirection, hence people fighting over toilet roles, .. of all things, its sad, the last 60 years of social engineering in the west has left us in a sorry state and unprepared for any national emergency. This virus, if everything carried on, like with the seasonal flu there would be casualties but nothing compared to the number of casualties resulting from a great depression caused by a destroyed economy, we don't come back from that.

Yes, 'the infrastructure of the whole country is to be destroyed many millions of businesses close and many millions made unemployed '

now extend that hypothesis globally and there you have, this is a global problem created by a global cartel to destroy the global economy. Its so obvious if you have had your eye on the ball last few years.

My comment wasn't directed at those traveling but at the govt. who, on the one hand canceled Songkran to prevent this kind of mass concentration of people (and also has shut down places like malls and up here in Isaan, outdoor markets, where large groups of people also gather) but then sat back to allow this disorderly migration.

They've now had at least a couple of weeks to do something like arrange orderly evacuation of people out of BKK back to their home provinces (if they didn't want to keep them there and offer assistance in BKK). Much easier for the buffoon of a Health Minister (who by the way has no medical experience/training whatsoever) to get up and blame "stinky/dirty farang" and then make the dubious claim (unsubstantiated I might ad) that he and his gov't were lauded by the WHO for doing a competent/admirable job.

I can't, perhaps you could translate. The cheapest mask effective against all sars type virus is a more specialized mask, known as an N95 respirator.

They acted tooooo slowly in closing all flights & borders & now it is here.

No thinking nor planning in letting the genie out of the bottle on the buses

Anarchy  & military rule by the "Boss" has to come by a man who if was not blinded by Chinese money could have kept a handle on this one by acting much quicker

Maybe you could temporarily mask up to keep the locals happy when out & about.  Put a n95 mask on & quit bitching.
