BEIJING (Reuters) - Mainland China reported its first locally transmitted coronavirus infection in three days, although cases involving travellers from overseas continued to dominate the total number of new cases.

China's National Health Commission said on Friday that 55 new coronavirus cases were reported on the mainland on Thursday, with all but 1 case involving so-called imported cases. There were 67 new cases a day earlier.

The one locally transmitted case was in Zhejiang province, the health commission said. The total number of infections for mainland China now stands at 81,340, with the death toll rising by five to 3,292, it said.

Don't complain, you brought it yourself in this world!

Who's complaining? ????????

How we know for sure that China is responsible for this virus? Is it a coincidence that China and Iran suffered the the most at first? Two of the United States' main 'enemies' in this current period.

Can we believe everything that the US, Thai and Chinese governments tell us?

What if a worldwide pandemic occurred because people were eating hamburgers?

The so-called Spanish flu in 1918 originated in the USA, on a farm (where the disease jumped species). It killed up to 100 million people. Would you also say that the USA, the whole of the USA, brought this on themselves?

Sure, the current Covid-19 cases in China do matter.  But what really matters (and we’ll probably never know—who is patient #1?   International researchers have tried to get this info from CCP, but no responses...

Because they're asking the wrong people.

This information does indicate one big weakness in the social distancing and lockdowns. What happens when you lift these rules. Covid is asymptomatic in lots, maybe most people who contract the virus. So what's to stop it from spreading again if society is no longer atomized into tiny separate groupings?

Spanish flu deaths are estimated at from 17M to 50M people.

Origin of 'Spanish' flu still not known, but latest thinking as reported in last month's National Geographic was that it originated in China and was brought to Canada when Chinese labourers were shipped out to replace workers who had gone to fight in the war.

Most flu epidemics start in China, so seems like a plausible theory.

And this is the number people are being told.  Even those who are mentally challenged can work it out. 1.4 billion people (give or take) yet the USA and now Italy have more cases.

Yes right. Bat soup and poor hygeine have a lot to answer for.

As a Chinese I never ever heard bat soup in my entire life.

Also unlike US/OZ etc. hunting any wild animal is very SEVERE crime in China, totally banned since 90s, no one even with connections would hunt a hare. Save except border provinces. I used work as police and know a particular corrupt police officer secretly kept HP air rifle & 7.62 pistol he confisticated, yet the only game prize he ever (illegally) hunted in China - pheasant and turtledove. And for other lawless without connection good luck finding any weapon or hunting activity in China, only net & traps hunting pheasant.

I love bowhunting/fishing but never once able to hunt in China, can only do the hobby abroad. Plus China don't have many wild animals to start with, even deer meat for riches are all herded, I know some rich man travel to some SEA countries to eat pangolin though because in China very likely life in prison, not only highly illegal but also strongly enforced

Well many do as you know and this is one reason spouted as the cause of the Coronavirus.

I am glad that you don't support the eating of wild animals. I am a huge dog lover and would add that to the list for my preferences of not eating various meats.

I'm a squirrel lover I despise thousands videos on youtube by US/OZ hunter teach you how to skin a squirrel.

I'm a cat lover I hate Japan use CO2(painful) mass euthanize ownerless but otherwise healthy cats

I'm a whale lover I hate Japan(again) hunting whales for food and oil

I'm a whitetail lover I despise ruthless killings for food/leather/popcontrol but also purefun in North America

All public knowledge rather than groundless 'bat soup'

Well, both our personal opinion will change nothing.

There're millions dog person in China live happily with their companion, I see no problem in that. What China lacking is animal vaccination rates still not very good compared to developed countries.

I also have a dog here and I can only talk about where i am and in my friends place in Beijing.

I would say 1 in 10 Chinese owners are responsible. The other 9 leave the dog dirt on the ground, don't know how to train dogs properly and lack the skills to socialise their dogs with other dogs and people.

Overall there is a long way to go but then I would say that about the people and social etiquette.

Because you don't realize how they fought it. I have friends in Beijing and they told me how they did it and I am not surprised by the outcome.
