Every day, it's a new low for the guy.... There's just no bottom to the depth of his vanity hell-hole:

You must bend a knee to the monarch. And flatter him on his appearance, knowledge and job performance. (Then he can use that in a campaign ad.)

Amb Birx has comsumed the Kool-Aid. Or she's savvily pretending to praise trump in order to help as best she can.

C'mon, Trump can't even make it to the clown-and-buffoon level.

i sure hope there are some adults in the administration handling this!  trump has no experience in manufacturing.  his business experience has all been about making the deal, not making stuff.

does he understand those automobile factories don't actually manufacture anything at all?  they take components and assemblies from hundreds of other factories around the world, run 'em through a highly-efficient, robotic assembly line, and basically bolt and paste cars together.

i get the idea he has this image from old black-&-white cartoons in his head, the kind he'd see before the main feature when he went to the "talkies" as a kid.  you got a confever belt moved by teams of elves with long beards manually turning cranks.  haha, and sometimes one would get his beard caught in the gears.  hilarity would ensue!  anyhoo, wads of raw materials would get dumped on the conveyer belt - gears, springs, flowers, cows with funny faces - as the belt moved sometimes this huge pressure vessel would drop down, there'd be some noise and shaking and stars and lines would shoot off, the vessel would rise, and voila! a shiny new widget!

anyhoo, he's got article 44 power now, along with executive orders.  they already blew $2 trillion on pork projects, so what's another billion?  just make nice with xi who has the factories running right now as we type.  ask nice and i'm sure he can ramp up production and give us 100K ventilators to our spec at half the price by the middle of april.

I really hope this is sarcasm.  Your suggesting that we let the country that handed out this virus now be the country that makes the equipment needed to fight this virus.  God help us.

the chinese have ventilators.  now.

they have capacity to make more, as many as we need.

we can print billions, no, make that trillions.

our people are dying.  now.

more will be dying tomorrow.

even more will expire next week.

is it really more important to listen to the insane twatterings of an egotistical fool who has no concept of leadership?

just buy the damn equipment NOW.

for people who are dying NOW.

is now really the time to make political points?

at least give them the choice.  you can use a chinese ventilator NOW.

or you can have a 2020 GM ventilato (with six cupholders).....in a month or 6 weeks.  MAGA!

Do they actually have enough now? Just asking. But certainly, if they do, obviously you want them from whoever can them to you the fastest with the mostest.

they just sent 300 doctors to italy, and are providing 10,000 ventilators.  i do not know the time frame for delivery on those.

Nah, Over 60% of American's approve of his efforts on the mother of all viruses and 49% approve of him, a record high for the commander and chief ! IMOP  It must be a whole lotta  politican goin on with GM ! I ain't byin a chevy anytime soon

According to the link below it's obvious where they put their eggs...

No wonder Trump is publicly bashing GM now... He's probably feeling peeved that the Republicans got less of GM's political campaign contributions than the Democrats did. And of course in Trump's mind, that's the basis for attacking people/entities as president and turning what's supposed to be a coronavirus relief effort into a political vendetta....  Just as he's was doing lately with the Democratic governor of Michigan.  The guy just can't behave as a president, he only knows how to be a jerk. Name calling and personal insults... The man demeans the office of president on a daily basis.

Trump has been critical of Whitmer's handling of the virus in recent days while Whitmer has said the country needs a better national strategy for combating the virus. On Friday night, Trump escalated his attacks on Michigan's governor in a tweet.

"I love Michigan, one of the reasons we are doing such a GREAT job for them during this horrible Pandemic," Trump posted on Twitter. "Yet your Governor, Gretchen “Half” Whitmer is way in over her ahead, she doesn’t have a clue. Likes blaming everyone for her own ineptitude!"

Trump's tweet came after Whitmer said in an interview with CNN that Michigan wasn't receiving needed health and safety equipment because contractors were sending their products to the federal government first.

Nice spin and a bit wrong to boot. That Gallup poll gave him a 60 percent approval for his conduct of the coronavirus crisis. But it didn't ask if he acted too slowly.

The Washington Post/ABC poll did. And while it found that 51 percent approve of the way he is handling it, 58 percent think he acted too slowly.

Fox News found that 51 percent approve of his performance re the corona virus but he trails, Anthony Fauci, local officials, state officials, state government, Mike Pence, and the Federal government. Fox didn't ask about Trump's performance re reacting early or preventing the spread of the virus, but the Federal govt. got negatives for both.

And finally the piece de resistance: The Fox News Poll pitted Biden against Trump in a hypothetical election

Fox News Poll: Biden leads Trump, wins high marks for female VP pledge

Former Vice President Joe Biden bests President Donald Trump by nine points in a 2020 ballot test, in the first Fox News Poll since Biden became the de facto Democratic nominee.

In a head-to-head presidential matchup, Biden is up by 49-40 percent over Trump, a lead that is outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. Another 11 percent would vote for someone else or are undecided.  Last month, Biden was ahead by 49-41 percent.

Irrelevant, with your spin, the stats are the stats! That's the headlines that have been reported for the CV approval ! Do you think the average American digs into the weeds to spin the questions that weren't asked! Nice try

So is or is the #1 manufacturing power in the world? And you have to remember, those are nominal dollar values. If you evaluate by PPP, the gulf is a lot bigger. Keep in mind that Nyezhov claimed the USA could outproduce any other nation. And to prove it, he cited WW2. Bizarre, no?

China no doubt has been the manufacturing plant for the world even branching into different countries to avoid quota and tarrif.

What China, Korea, Japan don't have are natural resources. Korea has absolutely nothing in this regard.

We will probably never know the real numbers relating to anything connected to Covid 19. Trump either doesn't know or makes up numbers on the run. He exaggerates any numbers he sees or that are put in front of him. He still does not read his daily briefings unless they are praising him. He has openly stated he will not "deal" with democrat governors unless they praise him or thank him for the "FANTASTIC"  job he has done after Obamas stuff up. He still denies closing down the department that Obama set up to to handle pandemics and the national stockpile of medical equipment.

Good link. Just as important are parts that have to be manufactured by vendors. Global supply network is important like Petrillo of City Twin Die Cast commented on getting their tools from China. It is a relieved that China production has now started. Alienating allies are such a bane for global cooperation.

The man really should keep his mouth shut and allow someone who is acquainted with truth and fact speak on matters  which they have expertise in. The man is so egocentric he fails to think before he opens his mouth and engages his vocal chords.

..... that's why he assigned Pence and Kushner 555

I have no idea what you're on about. I pointed out that the question was specifically asked in one poll about Trump's early performance. And why is it relevant whether the average American digs into the weeds. The point of polls is to find out where the averages stand.

"And on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your response to this crisis?” “I’d rate it a 10,” Trump answered. “I think we’ve done a great job.”

"“I think it is imperative that we have somebody like Donald Trump, who is outside the establishment expert class, who has a history of solving problems, to actually lead the country through this,” Limbaugh said."

“He’s been so attentive to the scientific literature and the details and the data,” Birx told CBN. “I think his ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit during these discussions about medical issues because in the end, data is data.”

This is the same man who a few weeks ago said "It is no big deal" when others were sugesting that plans needed to be made, and looked surprised when informed it was not a seasonal 'flu.

In front of a packed White House briefing room, President Trump told the country there were only 15 cases of coronavirus in the US, and “within a couple days [it is] going to be down to close to zero.” This contradicted both the CDC’s Anne Schuchat, who’d said minutes earlier from the very same stage that “we do expect more cases,” and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who’d said “we can expect to see more cases in the United States.” Feb 26 2020
