Take plenty of Medication every day.......  if pushed most can get from a Pharmacy, but  some not,  do wonder if all/any Hospitals sell..

Madiplot® (manidipine) 20 mg, taken a few years for the Dr to find the correct meds for BP + which is kind to my Kidneys [now down to stage 3] + without side effects....................  Prescription only ?  Pharmacies do not sell over the counter...  Would any/every Hospital have ?

I Take Miformin 850 MG 3 times a day....... Pharmacies appear to sell Miformin or Metformin 500 MG only.... Would any Hospital have ?

For years my Insulin = mixtard 70/30... as far as I am aware NO Pharmacies sell Insulin...  The Hospital I have used for the odd small things do not sell. but have other makes....  Are all 70/30 Insulin mixes the same ?  [if vials will fit in my pen]...

My normal Hospital [Red Cross] every 100 days Appointment is in a couple of weeks......  I do wonder about going so far or how safe it is.....  30 mins car or Taxi to MRT at Bang Yai = 45 mins later change to underground = another 45 mins to Silom Rama 4, + 30 mins to hobble across all the bridges + then hours in  [normally very busy] the Hospital + repeat the same to come home.  [normal is at least 12 hours from leaving till back home]  No Blood work this time so do I need to go ? Just need my Drugs

The Hospital I have used for the odd small things is in Bang Bua Thong = drive myself in 20 mins each way

I have not been out other than in my garden for past 4 weeks to be on the safe side. being 70 and not the best of health

I don't know where you live, but in Phuket, there is a Supercheap pharmacy that's huge. It has everything possible and very cheap (super cheap) prices. Can stock up.

Metformin 850 (Siamformet brand) is widely available across the country, as is the 500 size. Very inexpensive and found in normal drug stores.

Many thanks + for the websites...

Fascino Bang Yai = No thank you, big rip of + waste of time....

Yes Glucolyte 500 mg had for years [20 + years]  changed to the 850 mg in 2015...  [not sure if related but 6 x 500 mg a day since 1991, Dr said was not helping Stage 5 kidney Disease]   3 x 850 mg  a day = kidneys are down to stage 3 and stayed there for near 5 years.. OK other Med's where changed or added. keep my Blood Sugar between 85 - 110. monthly reading for March 100.2 average for the Month.

The biggest Pharmacy I know of around here Sai Ni Rd, do not have Insulin + said can only be got at a Hospital. Have asked over the years at a number of different Pharmacies all = NO......  reason when you live out in the sticks it is good to know where to get these things... have dropped a few Vials over the years, they break so easy = a 12 hour round trip if run out !

BP has been a problem = 1 type made it shot down to 60/40, others told not good for the Kidneys, tried a number of makes, for 3 months BP was around 220/116 average monthly, now a day the Med's I take - 137/79  average monthly

Madiplot (expensive, imported),  just checked my last invoice = Paid at the Pharmacy Hospital 1,400 baht for 200 tablets.. in checking on a website 1,700 baht for 90 tablets !!!!

So do not want to change anything, as what I take appears to all work fine.

It is possible there is a small branch of Fascino in Bang Yai but what I described is their main Bangkok store. It is huge and it is not in Bang Yai.

It is across from Siriraj Hospital. There are several other also large pharmacies right near it.

Many thanks, think it would take as long on Metro/ BTS to get there, as to the Hospital..  I have difficulty + Pain to walk have 2 frame sticks and wheelchair so not easy. and do no drive very far any more max 20 mins

Update:  my Hospital are re-booking appointments April and May to July.....!!  so far no info on repeat prescriptions or how to get them, will get a Thai speaker to phone and ask..

Got a Thai friend to phone Fascino on the number you gave 'Sheryl' =

All they have except tramadol 50 mg which they say can only be got with a Dr Prescription as it is not a over the counter drug..

As a PS:  much more expensive than the Hospital Pharmacy

They are wrong in the tramadol (which you did not mention in your OP). That can be gotten at any large pharmacy though they will limit how much they sell you. It does not require a prescription. However it is often abused so many pharmacies are spooked about selling it to people they don't know.

Many Thanks, my Thai friend just read off the last Dr/Hospital Prescription was to cover 110 days that time,  guess appears a lot.

Kasemrad Hospital, at the Talad Bangyai MRT station, has a heart center. You might stop by there.

Yes Thanks, but very very expensive....

2004 had my appendix out there + Not a private ward and 2 nights =  cost 76,000 baht !!!

Been there for other things until 2007, just way over the top pricewise

Just round the corner at Bang Bua Thong, forget the name with all the classic Mercedes is a fraction of the price..  Red Cross Hospital in Bangkok were I go for years is far cheaper than them.. + my Dr [older Dr] for past 6 years is a Diabetic Professor ........ last time I was admitted 6 nights + small Op + loads of test was less than 29,000 baht.

I visit my local BP hospital clinic every 3 months, ( I live south of Khon Kaen ).

I take a manidipine 20mg tablet every day.
The hospital sometimes has Kerdica and sometimes has Cardiplot, a strip is 40 Baht.
The imported manidipine 20mg at a local pharmacy is 220 baht for one strip.
Kerdica works better for me by about 5 points.
My condition has been stable for some years, and my lifestyle now includes walking and yoga.

I once asked the hospital doctor if I could try reducing my dosage by half, he agreed but then only gave me half the number of tablets, meaning I had to go back some two months later as a reduced dose wasn't working, at least not with Cardiplot.

In the past I have bought at a pharmacy in Khon Kaen and they would post to me, I am hoping to do the same again even if it costs me more, so I don't have to return to a very crowded local hospital during this dangerous period of time.

Thought you were looking for meds, not surgery ... "We-B-Drugs" probably ain't gonna have what you're looking for.

Yes Drugs.......... as the £ is so bad my Pension does not go far these days, it make a lot of difference, all my Med's + Insulin Dr + Nursing frees comes to just under 3,500 baht per visit, buying outside eg: Fascino  quote was 8,000 baht, and that is without any Dr + Nursing frees and Tramadol tablets.

Maybe easier to put ---- Kasemrad Hospital in the walkway under the Hospital at the end was where they did the Blood work from 8 am for Diabetics, 2013 [last time I went] the cost was 1,750 baht........  Red Cross Hospital is 675 as of end Jan 2020 [last visit]

Even easier to put .... buy your meds from the Red Cross.

He is depending on and living on a UK pension and keeps going on about what he needs then continually states that the meds are either too expensive, are not available in the correct doses he requires, and talks about having medical services before in Thailand (which are completely irrelevant to his present circumstances), and, and, and, etc., even when given locations to go to or to call he still makes excuses for not taking the advice offered.  There is no way he can be helped.  Let him go back the the UK and see how he fares there.  I am not an unsympathetic person, but there are limits to how much can be done to help somebody who keeps putting roadblocks in the way of his advance back to, or maintaining good health.

The prices we were quoted, posted preceding yours, I am confident will beat whatever he has found. This pharmacy undersells hospitals as much as 90%. It also beats all pharmacies on most meds.

It also sells insulin, OTC.

But, you're probably right; seems he'd rather find excuses than solutions.

Is money a problem otherwise grab or a taxi would solve your problems. I use it a lot in your area. I live near central westgate.

Many thank all, for advise and help....

I live out in the sticks in a small Village, not far from Sai Noi..... house was built and moved in 16 years ago last month..

Exchange rate back then was 76.7 these days around 36,  Money for the yearly extension on Deposit back then was 7.8 % interest per month, these days .35, so my monthly income is well under 65 % less, so Yes do not waste money, and have to look twice at the price.

i take 13 different tablets every day + Insulin, so the drug bill could be very expensive.. if I do not watch were I buy it..  + getting in and out of a car is difficult + Taxi normally have the boot full with a Gas Tank so nowhere for wheelchair....  Diabetic 30+ years, had 2 Strokes. present Stage 3 Kidney failure, Cataracts + Glaucoma + a few other things

I was looking for other ways to get this time the 100 days of drugs, I just feel it would be better this time to stay at home and not take 3 hours travelling to and from on the MRT + Metro + hours milling around the Hospital waiting to see the Dr and waiting for Drugs..

I have supplied you already with 2 sources that will deliver meds to you....one by post and one by personal delivery.   It will cost more than at the Red Cross, but of course you save on travel.
