Likely story me heartys! They had symptoms prior to boarding but refrained from saying so to prevent boarding the aircraft thus endangering the lives of the other passengers on board. Typically human response these days...me...me...me!

No they are just getting tired to mention it, because it starts to become a regular thing that foreigners are more irresponsible. Look at the figures in their respective countries and you will find a clear pattern.

The PP holder's address at application may be encoded in the ID page but their intended destination after entry is not declared.

But......Didn't we recently read Thailand was not only making even Thai's prove they were Thai by going to London Thai Embassy before flights home but also.....ALL passengers needs a no more than 72hour old health cert to verify they were Corona free?

So why are such flights still being permitted??  What happened to their previous boarding medical clearances??

Have you ever had to get a Thai "health certificate"? Temperature, Blood Pressure ...... Next!

Whether they are Thais or hardcore expats shouldn't the borders be closed?  I read there are hundreds of Thais who want to return to Thailand from Italy should we allow this without some measures in place before they get on a flight?

Hence the even higher costs in eventually 'restoring' it back to full flight status. Many deeper levels of maintenance require the serviced aircraft to fly, as part of it's post-maint checks... 

 

these aircraft, flying one or not, still get basic Servicings, so there will always be Costs anyway. 

 

 

 

 

I think the airline industry will have a very different look about it when this all over. Higher prices and less flights may be the new norm.

I think many countries will keep stricter border control to and from some countries. I expect many countries will curtail the o/s travel of their citizens. Travel insurance will rise, and need for health clearance certificates < market for forgeries) before boarding, like in the "old days" we had to have smallpox vaccinations and carry our vaccination book.

It really is quite funny to see how quickly nations and their people seek to absolve themselves of blame and quickly point the finger elsewhere. While we are all busy blaming each other and wasting our energies in politcial debate, the virus with its non discriminatory approach is marching happily on. There must be a lesson there...what is it the Americans say 'united we stand, divided we fall'

IT shouldn’t be difficult to trace any of these passengers as they should have filled in the T8 form and update their health findings in the AOT app daily.

Each and every airline around the planet, are mothballing all but the very few that we are seeing, doing those flights.

 

High pressure on cleaning staff to try to 'safely' prepare the aircraft during the turnaround time of unloading/reloading...

Why aren't the airlines smart enough, to cycle through all the individual aircraft in their fleets? - that are now idle?

Keeping them in a time sharing arrangement will keep the entire fleets Maintenance-fresh 

 

It will assist in the financial recovery, for when 'normal' flight resume; as the costs will be lower to Maintain air worthiness, then it will otherwise cost to Restore airworthiness...

 

Having the 'longer' rest between the merry go round of musical chairsnof aircraft; would enable a more thorough cleaning of the aircraft too

The airlines are only flying their most fuel efficient planes at the moment, letting the older guzzlers sit idle. 

 

It's going to take years for the airlines and air travel to recover from this and chances are most 747's and A380's will never be returned to service.

Since when?  Last trip out about 6 months ago wife completed the cards, departure card was taken when we left and arrival card half was collected on arrival.  Been this way for many years.  So when did it change or are you perhaps mis-informed.

Actually the point is here that it shows how pathetic the government requirements really are for Thai citizens to obtain a "fit to fly" certificate and a letter from your embassy confirming you are a Thai citizen. It is outrageous and unconstitutional, but more importantly wholly ineffectual.

 

I would be fascinated to know how many passengers were on that flight.

 

I was reading an article written by a Thai lady who flew back from Brussels last Sunday (29 March). She said she was one of only three other passengers who had "managed to comply with a check-in directive issued last month by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. The directive requires all Thai returnees to present a "fit-to-fly" health certificate, signed by a local doctor 72 hours prior to boarding, plus a document from the Royal Thai Embassy or consulate, certifying they are flying home."

 

It must be even harder for 'foreigners' to board.

It doesn't matter what the nationality of the passengers were, the whole world caught it eventually from that "wet" market in Wuhan China, where they were selling bats, dogs and other exotic creatures for eating. Goodness knows why they should want to eat bats, probably something to do with sexual virility. The Thais should've banned all arrivals from China as soon as the virus was made public in my opinion.

If anyone is still being let in they should immediately go into 14 day quarantine.  Period.  No exceptions.  They can use one of the hundreds of empty hotels so the government knows exactly where they are.

- 14. of November 2019: 8 people were treated in Wuhan hospitals for an unkown lung disease.

- 08. of November 2019: rumours about a mysterious lung disease spread.

They would probably be Thai nationals given the restrictions in place at the moment (no 30 day entry, no tourist visas, and requiring even Thai nationals to be tested before flying home.) That would mean no landing card. (I think they stopped Thais needing a landing card since they put in the automated gates at immigration.

In theory, they should have their Thai addresses as they'd have their passport numbers, and from that their id card details. But if they're living in the UK, it's quite likely they're registered at a relative's address.

This was supposedly why all passengers, both Thai and foreign, were being forced to download and use the app. In theory, then, they already have the names, addresses, seat numbers, and phone and email information for all the passengers on those flights - so why is a plea for people to come forward necessary? And if it IS necessary, why is it coming on the Facebook page of a provincial health office, rather than from the central government?

This is China's mess and all the way at the start they left the flood gates open to appease the inhumane and negligent communists. There has been a massive infection in this country from January and it came from China. I myself stopped at a McDonalds, dont judge me, on the way down to HuaHin in February; only to see coughing mainlanders coughing their Wuhan virus everywhere. I walked st8 the f out.

Everyone should ban all and everything from that backward virus pandemic making communist country until they sort themselves out and start acting like humans. Yet another Dr has now gone missing. Those poor people having to live until a regime like that. They wont close the wet markets or ban the sale of these exotic animals because they fear social and political reprisals. Its pathetic, typical communists, <deleted> all to stay in power. 

I remember once back in 2008, when I was on a flight from Colombo to Singapore, the cabin crew, by orders from Singapore, disinfected us all, by spraying disinfectant all over the cabin after we had boarded. Maybe this procedure would be a good idea to introduce on all flights during this virus pandemic.
