Groundhog Day ? Isn’t this now the 3rd time they have issued the same warning ? Saturday, Sunday & now Monday ?

Only this time, they really, really mean it. Useless idiots.

It's like a mother talking to a naughty child:

" I'll count to 3. If you haven't done it by then , I'll punish you. 1....2......3. I'll count again 1....2.....2 and a half 3.......ok one more time 1...... 1 and 1/4....1 and a half........."

For god's sake, thailand - you have the names and presumably the addresses - get off your butts and arrest them, like this freaking morning.

Authorities are threatening to reveal the names of 24 Thais, who arrived at Suvarnabhumi international airport on Friday and returned home to avoid state quarantine, if they do not report in by 6pm today.

So far, 134 of them have reported to authorities, leaving 24 unaccounted for.

Interior Permanent Secretary Chatchai Promlert issued an urgent instruction yesterday to all provincial governors to track down all 158 of the passengers. They were also told to advise those in contact with the returnees to enter self-quarantine for 14 days as well.

You know who they are from flight information... get off your a**e and go get them...

And then hit them hard with the maximum penalty to show every other inbound passenger this is no longer a game!

Abide by the rules or get hammered!

This whole fiasco continues. So yesterday's press release by them was a complete and utter lie.

Scandalous they were allowed to leave in the first place.  Round them up--don't wait for them to be shamed into turning themselves in--they obviously have no shame.  Total incompetence.

bring out the new smart SIM detector van...

No mention from where the plane came from. Anyone know?

One report said on 3  planes from Japan another report from the US, i would suggest if the government wants all the citizens respect and support they need to go and get these  returnees now, straight line thinking  points me in the direction that IF any of these returnees are infected and disobey an order from government and cause the death of another they are in the deepest of trouble.

The 24 escapees are probably monied/connected Thais who believe that the rules don't apply to them because of their imaginary lofty status. ????

To be fair NCC ,gather round is not PC these days ,  these here get it.

Incompetent with a big capital I, from the top down..

They lied about all 156 people turning themselves in.  Hkw can we believe only 24 are still to be found?

Whenever the govt states a number,  double or triple that for the real total.

Publish!!!

You won't be damned!

He-hey, they took my advice: use the deadly cultural flaw, face, in your advantage. Naming & shaming works wonders for those that are afraid to death about losing face.

Publish a mugshot too, with "Wanted for idiocy" on the top.

Whenever a ThiaV member proselytises an unsupported theory, discount it entirely! ????

I think they were from various flights, and not all from the same place.

A partial list of names was posted in my village FB page. Two were highlighted as living in may area. I think the names have been posted online somewhere but I don't know the original source.

Times up, now what?

I guess:

10 of them turned themself in before 6pm.

Upon further investigation it turned out the the other 14 people do indeed have high ranking friends and they are allowed to quarantine at home.

The names and addresses have been doing the rounds of Facebook for the last few days.

Next will be the names and addresses of all the farang hiding out around Thailand.

Am I wrong in believing that these selfish fools from last Friday are directly responsible for the travel ban extension to the 18th April ?

Why they wait the names and photos should be splashed over all the thai news every channel all day till they report.

Won't be long before they given up by some scared Thais.

If they don't report today they will just change and say 6pm tomorrow to report.

If they where farangs I think they would have been on the telly already.

We know tomorrow never comes.

Maybe take a leaf out Philippines book.

yes mate you are correct, if they put there pictures all over the news hopefully family members etc will push them to return.

"sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me".  So they publish the names.. so what?  Do they expect social peer pressure, public stoneings?

So the others reported.  So what?  Did they quarantine them?  Did they just sit down and have a chat with them?  What happened to the supposed automatic quarantine?   I do not see that that happened or was done

Avisitor friend asked isn't a bit like hide in seek or a giant game of Where's Wally, where they call out numbers  up to 100 and pretend to look .We're coming ready or not,as they open another one....

Once I explained the bigger picture of immunity and unaccountability he repiled

"So' Wally's in charge?"

I think she'll acclimatize rapidly to understanding the role of face.

The rest of us  gets fined or a prison sentence, this lot  get "asked" to report to authorities or have your name printed..

Sounds like the treatment the well connected and wealthy get here. Meanwhile set up a police sting to bust someone "overcharging" on masks.

"... the defiant returnees will also face penalties under the Emergency Decree and the Infectious Disease Act, which include two years in prison and/or a fine of 40,000 baht.  ..."

The good news is that once jailed, they will get free fish head soup and their choice of Covid-19 or TB and verbal abuse therapy for the duration of their stay.  They are all out of masks and TP - "No hab".

Publish names??

I dont know about you but there are alot of thais with the exact same first and last name.

Met a few "Tittiporns" in my time.

They should be releasing full names addresses, i.d card pictures, passport bio page pictures.

Thats if they are serious about catching them. Probably not.
