stevenl
Thanks, also to the others. Went there this morning, nobody in front of me, and drive through, not walk through.
LivinginKata
Screwed up my 90 day online so off to drive through this morning. Roads from Chalong circle very busy, back to normal. Drive through lined up on main road. Cause confusion with through traffic. Process seemed longer than usual per passport. At least sit in comfort of car with my music choice. Not so bad .... KarenBravo
Just had my online 90-day report approved. Now that the TM30 is no longer required, just a few minutes each year at immigration to get the yearly extension. Love it!

TM30 is all about house registrations. Edit - for me I usually do the 90 day and house change online. So just one trip Imm per year as you say. Popular Post Psimbo
In and out within ten minutes on Friday to renew Retirement Permit. No map asked for as I had made one of course. One lady was just finishing up as I got there and the visa was stamped in almost before I had sat down. Very quiet, no one after me and I was the ninth person that day to be processed- this was at around 11 am. It took longer to get the letter from the bank than it did the actual visa stuff! Only difference from last year was fingerprinting scans and a photo against a height board. Didn't even get inside to collect it today- passed to me as soon as I got there. Very good service.
hansgruber
If you guys want to get a ticket for the que at immigration you can use the QueQ app. I used it yesterday and can check in 3 kilometres before you even arrive. I walked in and my number was called immediately and in front of all the miffed expats waiting in line. I suggest booking this way. It's available in the play store. Which service do you select for COR or re-entry permit as I cant see that option within Phuket immigration? Ah maybe you select the certification option, thanks for letting us know it works. What did the poster use the QueQ for then if not for room 101? maybe used it for room 103, he has not provided any information other than he used it. I understood that he was trying to use the QR code for a Re-entry. Currently only room 102 is using the QR option. Btw, Did you see the terms and conditions when you want to use the QR code option on your phone? They collect all previous data from your phone from all the times you used the QR app. They follow your location all the times even the app is not being used. Collect all your phone information. When using a social media login for the app they can also collect all information from the used social media account. They can share all collected information with everybody else. Reading this i don't think that i will be using the QR app and just walk in for my immigration issues. 5

I must say I find the permissions required for this app extreme, a reason for me not to use it

Normally they only have your phone number and maybe your email address if you provided that but nothing more. i have nothing to hide but reading the T/C of the app it’s going to far for me to agree to it. Why do they need all the information and track you for the whole year when you use the app maybe for 5 mins? Also I don’t like it that they can hand over all your information to anybody they like. Old Croc
In may Phuket Immigration granted me a further 12 month retirement extension, without needing the insurance ripoff, for which I was very grateful. It's given me the time to wait for any further legislative changes or to amend my stay reason. Now, nearly three months later, I've just inputted my details into the 90 day report on-line app. I've been doing this 3 or 4 times a year since my arrival in 2010, always without being accepted. This has resulted in numerous trips to this office for myself, and/or my lady, just for them to update their computer. It has no practical purpose. Quelle surprise! After those 30+ attempts over the years it went through to the pending tray for the first time! I guess it has something to do with my new passport which would have caused them to update my details into the system. (My last arrival and departure card details haven't changed) I now look forward to making just the single yearly journey to Immigration in future.

I'm not sure about Thai Immigration but Thai Police surely has the knowledge and tools to track a phone, be it "smart" or "dumb" phone. This method (base station triangulation) is used for decades by the emergency services to find lost people (and crooks of course ???? ) P.S. 16 hours ago, fdsa said: so if you have a 2010+ phone - you are f'd. and if you have a pre-2010 phone but don't know how to use it properly - you are f'd too :D everyone is f'd actually. Agusts
@Old Croc Exactly the same for me, 90 day reporting never worked before, after new passport, it's working now... Although I use their website, as discussion above goes, I avoid installing any app on my phone if there is a website alternative available - far better for my phone's health, and my sanity...! ???? I remember years ago when the smart phone apps started appearing, I was totally baffled why people would install an app, and why companies create app rather than a well-written mobile version website for it - now we know why...???? I still use Facebook website and others on my phone, so far so good. But they try hard to reduce options and force me to go for the app - resist comrades...lol

I consider it far too easy for thieves or scammers to access important data from a mobile device. I don't buy internet for it, just link to my home WIFI. Ergo it's just for calls when away from home base.

Sorry for not clarifying. It's just to grab a ticket and a place in line in front of the hordes of the unorganised. You can hit it 3km away from immigration and uses your location to know you're nearby and put you in line. I walked in the door and was first up. I didn't see any room selections 101 etc.. Just give them phone number, visa or service required and that's it. Apart from that it's a pretty useless app. I don't care about spying or tracking. I have nothing to hide from anyone. Hope they like my taste in porn if they're watching. 1
hansgruber
I see all this talk about the app spying, tracking etc. Just check off the permissions. Only let it access to what you want it to and when. I only allow it to access my location when I'm using the app only. Rest of the time it has no access. 1
madmitch
I went to Immigration at 2:15 this afternoon. I was literally the only customer in the main room (101). A far cry from a couple of weeks ago.
