Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering launched “CU-RoboCovid” on Wednesday (April 8 ) to help doctors and nurses who are in the frontline of the battle against Covid-19.

The new robot was created to help doctors reduce their risk of infection, ease their workload and boost the efficiency of caretakers.

The robot was developed in cooperation with Mi Workspace, HG Robotics and Obodroid.

The group had previously created the “Pinto” and “Ninja” robots to help in the battle against the virus.

The Pinto robot is used to deliver food or medical supplies, while Ninja is connected to monitors that can send information about the patient’s blood pressure, pulse, temperature etc directly to the doctor.

The developers aim to provide 103 Pinto robots to medical personnel to mark the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association’s 103rd anniversary this year. Presently, 20 such robots are working at Chulalongkorn, Siriraj and Vachira Phuket hospitals.

Thais like their robot gadgets. Did they get that from the Japanese?

Looks like each "robot" food tray needs a nerd to work the remote in order for them to get around.  My roomba can do better than that.

I'm not sure how that touchscreen "robot" will be sanitary.

What a great shame the Designers of the new " Bot " never studied Ergonomics

Any body using this thing is going to end up with a twisted Spline

Would freak me right out waking up to see a big black frog holding an iPad gurning at me .. And the whining noise that trolley thing makes could bring someone out of a coma ..
