Try again: This is from Government records

The New Phuket Governor will start to work on the island on October 1 while the current governor Norraphat Plodthong will be finishing at the end of next month.

The cabinet has approved the new Phuket governor to replace current Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong who will be retiring this September 30.

The new Phuket governor, Pakkapong Tawipat, is the current Phitsanulok Governor.

Could that be from a 2016 or so reshuffle?

No that's from the 2018 reshuffle...so Look at the name of the new Governor effective October 1, it's on the bottom of the post......He was the prior Governor of Phitsanulok.

Cabinet had resolved to transfer Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana to Petchaburi, where he is to serve as governor.

What on earth has Petchaburi done to deserve this honour? There certainly won't be bunting in the streets of Cha Am!

Order - the arrangement of people or things, the present tense

Phakaphong Tavipatana is to be transferred out of the province by order of the Cabinet. 15/4/20

Ordered - the arrangement of people’s of things, the past tense.

Phuket governor ordered out.

Not difficult is it.

The Politics of this country are no different that the Chinese Communist Party. Governors are not elected. Police Chiefs are not elected. As a matter of fact nobody appears to be a legitimate elected official in Thailand. I guess communism won after all in Thailand.

You have to go back some years to find a governor who completed a 2 year term.

The last 4 Phuket Governors and their terms:

Chamroen   - 12 months

Chokchai     - 6 months

Norraphat    - 16 months

Phakaphong - 17 months

(Could be wrong, but does the increased frequency of movements coincide with the coupe?)

I was expecting the pedants to pick on my math, not my spelling.

Your little picture looks like a sedan to me.

An SUV no coups or convertibles on the emoji selection :wai:

So governors are appointed by "the Cabinet" whoever they may be as opposed to being elected.  No wonder they can act like petty dictators.

And transfer still not happened if you believe latest news about Covid testing.

Of April 17:

Quote

The news came at the meeting of the Phuket Communicable Disease Committee chaired by Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana yesterday.
