It was just a question and didn’t deserve a constant barrage of verbal abuse. No problem enjoying a cold beer, I do as well, personally I'd have no problem with however much beer you want to bring back, my advise was genuine and 100% correct. Looks like I won’t need to bother now as I said earlier just got 24 cans. Of course none of this would arise if the on line immigration 90 day reporting system worked. The reason your getting a barrage of what you say is verbal abuse is everyone is trying to tell you and can't undarstand how you have missed the many posts/reports on ThaiVisa and news outlets that all land borders to Thailand have been closed. YOu can't just cross over to do a border bounce anywhere at the moment. Vehicles transporting goods for businesslike oil tankers ect can cross but as a normal Expat/tourist you cannot cross. That is why emergency extentions have been given to those on Visa Exempt, Tourist Visas, Multi entry visa ect as there is no way for us to leave to visit a embassy in foreign country or even cross over for a stamp.

The borders will be closed to white folk for months, if not the rest of the year. And if Laos did open, Thailand wouldn't let you back in. moontang
I am even cautious about leaving in September to visit the States. Getting back in could still be problematic. Even an extra medical form would make me want to delay.

jimmjam
I used a taxi before from the vientiane side of the friendship bridge to nong khai, take as much back as you want they never even check the boot. The txi drivers are well in with the immugration officials. They pay them a small fee, believe its 20 baht. Dont know what its like in savannakhet / mukdahan though. jimmjam
But like i said last week. The borders wont be open, especially to farangs. You wont be able to stamp in and out in may. U should go to immigration and get a 60 day extension.

What I did see yesterday was that certain provinces were lifting the ban on alcohol on certain dates. Yasothon, Roiet and others were today 17th, we will see. So you didn't see the widespread reporting of the Government decree on 25 March? It took effect as of midnight on that date and is valid until April 30 (unless extended). Among other things, it: Quote bars traveling into Thailand through its land, sea, and air border checkpoints, with several exceptions. One of those exceptions is for foreigners with a work permit but from what you say, you don't have one. So a border run is definitely out of the question. See link below. It will be interesting to see what Nonthaburi does, as well as the others currently listed as the ban ending on the twentieth..I hope so. Tesco and 711 both look like they never sold any of it..hopefully, we can just follow the money, instead of being victimized again by the masters of shooting themselves in the foot.
