Ngh. Growing up in 70's and 80's Finland, which while it wasn't a commie state, was still kowtowing to USSR because of the defeat in WW2, and remembering that, the scenario you describe is very, very unappealing. One of the best days of my life was when we got the news russkies had fallen. There was a heavy recession, but then my generation rolled their sleeves up and things like Nokia came to life. Glorious times. Now it's just downhill everywhere.

I hope things open up for the sake of the people and travel to Thailand is allowed without too much trouble. 

 

Our annual trip to see family/in-laws and friends was canceled for this month, obviously. Ready to move there as well, at least part-time.

When will they let back the 4 million Burmese, Cambodians and Laotians plus some illegal Vietnamese and Filipinos to do the jobs that Thais refuse to do.  That could be necessary for many constructions sites, farms and other businesses to re-open.

6 Communities are fully educated, engaged and empowered to live under a new normal.

   We may find that there will be some Thais that will now do the jobs that they used to refuse to do.
