I mailed a birthday card to my nephew in the U.S. from Mail Boxes Etc. (Bangkok) on March 18.  It was sent registered air mail, and it does have a Thai Post tracking number.  Entering the tracking number into Thai Post's website, it says the card was received at Suvarnabhumi Airport and ready for transit on March 20.  However, no update whatsoever past that date.  To the best of my knowledge, the card is still sitting there.  There is no other way to tell whether it went out and is lost in the U.S. somewhere, or if it was lost in the shuffle here in Bangkok.  It had a return address on it and has not been sent back to me.  Wish I knew what the status was past March 20, because my nephew hasn't received it yet.

A friend has been told ( on Thursday 29th April) that there is no EMS post to the UK. I haven't read anything about postal restrictions, so has anybody attempted to post anything recently?

I’m sure somebody posted a table from the post office, of destinations that you could currently post by EMS to, but I can’t remember where. From memory, the only destinations you could currently send EMS airmail to were Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam although I could be wrong.

You are correct and the information on the other services is in the pinned POST OFFICE topic at the top of this forum.

Thanks!  I had no idea they had a hotline in English ????  For anyone else interested in reaching the hotline, the number is #1545.

For general information it says to push option 1 but that the phone then hangs up, so push option 2 instead, and then there will be a list of options, one of which will connect you to general information.

#1545 is one of the best things about Thai Post. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. BTW, if you send a parcel EMS International and you can't track it, call this number, ask for the specialist of the destination country and there is a good chance that they will tell you that they handed the parcel over to DHL and will give you the DHL tracking number. Apparently it's a fairly new partnership (especially in Europe) and they can't find a way to merge the two tracking systems so calling #1545 is the only way to find out where it is. And for anything else as well - they are very helpful. They have a specialist for each country and some even speak the language of that country.

My daughter just posted a package from the UK to me here by recorded delivery ,usually takes about 10/12 days ,lets see now .

That’s quite long. Tracked packages from the UK usually take about 7 days for me, occasionally 6. The last one took 10 days, which arrrived about 3 weeks ago from memory, and I’m currently waiting on one that was posted on the 17th (but not tracked).
