E-cigarettes are bad for spreading the virus says minister after Bangkok market raid

E-cigs are not illegal to use in Thailand. At least one post on TripAdviser with confirmation from tourism minister.

It is illegal to sell e-cig products . Like most thing here depends who’s doing the selling.

The vapour exhaled from e cigs comes from deeper in the lungs and has

more particles for a virus to attach itself to, so it is more likely to spread

the plague than someone exhaling a normal breath of air.

I'm not saying that this raid was purely to prevent the spread of the virus,

but there is some scientific truth involved.

Are you saying that smokers breathe heavier or deeper than non-smokers? I have no idea.

Yes smokers are known to have the best lung capacity that's why all professional apnoe divers are heavy smokers.

PS: Post could contain sarcasm

I think most people are commenting on the hypocrisy of it all;

vaping (banned and not giving government any tax revenue) BAD

smoking (backed by large conglomorates and providing a healthy tax revenue) - 'insert sound of crickets'

E-cigarettes were banned a long time ago, purely to protect the profits of the Thai Tobacco Monopoly !

Now, quite conveniently, they are bringing it into the Covid-19 argument, to justify the ban !

Surely smoking cigarettes also entails exhaling, but there is no vendors getting arrested, with threats of 3 years jail, or 600,000 baht fines !

Surely that's because smoking cigarettes is not illegal?

Prime minister's office minister Tewan Liptaphallop said those selling the items faced prison for three years and fines of 600,000 or both for contravening 1979 consumer laws.

I didn't know that e-cigs had been invented by 1979, or pandemics were mentioned .. So how could this law apply?? TIT..

I have noticed that when a lots of e smokers blow out their white vapor clouds, that

is what they do. They blow out their breath, not just breath out naturally.

For the posters who have not seen this, they must either be blind, or maybe

they are the e smokers.  I have always hated seeing smokers, or e smokers doing this, while

likely thinking somehow that their action is cool, or hip, or some other

delusion.

Geezer

but real cigs are ok?

How about banning them as well?

May as well just ban anything remotely fun.

Can I still j**k off or do I need to confirm with you lot beforehand?

In Thailand you're not allowed to do a job that a Thai local can do. And it's 40 degree's now, why would you do the work?
