kingstonkid
This is taken from TRAVELPULSE and on Foxnews. https://forum.thaivisa.com/forum/245-covid-19-coronavirus-forum/?do=add Before entering the hotel, guests must have their temperatures taken by one of the two nurses stationed at the hotel’s entrance. 1 person to an elevator at a time. guests are given three separate bags for used towels, used bedding and trash. When towels and bedding need to be cleaned and when garbage needs to be removed, guests must place the bags near the room’s entrance and contact housekeeping, who will then take the bags. Guests who wish to use the hotel’s gym must sign up for a specific time slot Amenities such as minibars, excess hangers, excess linens and excess pillows have been removed from the rooms. rooms are deep-cleaned 24 hours after guests check out, though some hotels, such as the Hilton, require that a room stays vacant for three days after a medical worker checks out. This is being used by some of the major hotels including the Hilton. While i do not think that Thailand will adopt all these things i would be willing to bet that a few of them will be included including closing swimming pools.

Guderian
Sounds like the cost of staying in a hotel is going to at least double. That, along with a 50%+ increase in air fares, should just about finish off the tourist industry.
Popular Post KhunBENQ
Absurd. The world is in complete madness. This is not Ebola! Change linen, clean bathroom, (door) handles and that's it (about the usual). The whole social distancing is a chimera with little to no effect (WHO). Total lockup or normal movement (wearing masks, practicing hygiene). In Germany they want to open children's playgrounds obeying social distancing. What a complete B.S. Surelynot
The novelty will eventually wear off once deaths rumble along at a constant rate and we will return to 'normal' normal.
baansgr
Hotels the world over will be fully booked with rules like that...getting there will also be a breeze if you are flying...tourism numbers year on year will be up worldwide next month...I'd rather have root canals done
Enzian
What's going on with liability for "negligence"? Is it country by country? Say someone gets sick in a hotel, and sues claiming that the cleaning procedures were inadequate or not according to standard protocols? I know people seldom sue in Thailand, but the US is crazy as we all know.

This is why it is important to stay at least 1 metre (3 feet) away from others." (WHO). https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses WHO is a horrible source as they have had many things wrong about CV19 since the beginning and have changed their stance on many things including now realizing the importance of social distancing (which you still don't). You have not only chosen a poor source for referencing, you are additionally referencing outdated discredited info. JackGats
Hotels were never shown to present a risk. Closing hotels (to scare guests into airport and planes!) was irrational, like much having to do with the reaction to this old people homes' virus. I think here in Thailand many hotels preferred anyway to close to keep the costs down. It is cheaper than being open without any customers.
