The Cabinet today resolved to extend the State of Emergency by another month starting May 1, in a move to prevent Covid-19 from spreading further, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said today (April 28).

He added that the 10pm to 4am curfew will also be maintained.

The Cabinet also decided not to postpone public holidays in May.

Prayut said a number of restrictions will remain, but others will be relaxed.

The government clamped the State of Emergency on March 26 until April 30 and imposed a 10pm to 4am curfew on April 3.

Seems odd that the virus might get spread more when there are less people about.

The provincial governors take orders from the government.

It will probably stay as it is, but, whichever way it goes, it will be the same across the board (or in this case bored !).  ????????????

This is what we were waiting for? Prayut to come and tell us that the state of emergency would continue 'til May 31st and more announcements will be made later. Then his spokeswoman comes on and just parrots what he says.

It's as if they're winging it and just making it up as they go along. Good to know that up to 10 million people will get financial assistance. That obviously worked so well during the first round of payments.

Useless.

With the people control measures continuing,

we need to know what restrictions are being relaxed. There does not seem to be any info yet.

Careful, Steven. I'm sensing a tone of frustration from you, and one should never question "Khun Prayut's" decisions (or indecisions).

They will make an announcement about an upcoming announcement soon.

Yes the only important issue at hand for me at the moment. All else I can deal with.

No, there was no decree. It was only the CCSA saying the decree will be extended.

Today was for the govt to confirm. Today refers to the cabinet decision.
