I'm currently on a 60 day extension of stay (marriage) which expires 13th June.  I'm in the process of applying for a Non-Imm O (marriage) through Chiang Mai immigration, however they are asking for my Affirmation of marital status certificate from when my wife and I married in 2007...... We don't have it, it was handed over to the amphur, and we didn"t keep a copy. I have spoken to the British Embassy Bangkok requesting another or a copy (if they have one), I'm being told records are only kept for 3 years and that basically I don't need one as our marriage certificate is now the master document...... We have to produce the marriage certificate also which was all that I was expecting to produce as evidence of marriage...... Is this a normal request from immigration?

I have not heard of a eoffice wanting on for a long time now. If they really want one the only place to a copy of it from the Amphoe where you registered your marriage.

Are you sure they are not asking for a updated printout of your Kor Ror 2 marriage registry from an Amphoe.

Thanks mate, I just found in English what was highlighted with neon pen on the Thai language info page handed to my wife.  Seems the officer behind the desk is getting confused and is asking for the documents required if we married abroad, which we didn't we married in Thailand....... lol confusion all round because of this misunderstanding.

My wife should have picked this up though...... oh well, we live and learn huh.
