I know it's Ramadan, but some days it seems like the Muslims have taken over running Thailand.

Now what do you think of the infection/death rate figures being released?

the answer is obvious - CV-19 thrives on alcohol, experts across the planet have overlooked this entirely

Never mind fellas, at least you are in Thailand, not at risk in your native lands ????

I am utterly confused.

How to reconcile with

and this

?? Either all measures have not been extenbded or the last 2 rticle re incorrect.

Which is it?

Sheryl I feel very unsafe when you are confused

haven't you considered also that the Thailand governments data on the spread of this virus doesn't match with their actions across the country

How many tests have they actually carried out now - 50k in 120 days

They did a random antibody test sample of 3000 people in New York and have discovered that at least 25% of the population have been infected

The other point that stands out is - CV-19 doesn't actually kill people - it is a Co-infection/condition that is primary, the conclusion being that healthy people do not die of CV-19

How many people in Thailand have died from these other infections/conditions and no link has been made to CV-19 - my guess would be a huge number

Come on you all, its not that difficult; 100% grape juice, sugar, water, yeast and a big plastic container.

Not sure of the rational of a booze ban other than the PM wants recipients of the 5000bt to remember who gave it or he fears a drunken mob from those who got nothing ????

Does anyone else get the feeling that the government are using this as an opportunity to practice procedures for any time they need to declare martial law?

The PM extending the emergency measures can't be due to this:

Official #COVID19 update in #Thailand on Thursday:

2,954 people infected (+7)

2,687 discharged from hospital (+22)

213 in the hospital

54 dead (+0)

And I bet every single governor and politician supporting this has a suitably large stash of wine / beer / whiskey at home and cannot see for a moment what the issue is..and I would include Prayut in that as soliders whether serving, ex (or in prayut case both) are well know to like a pint or two...just saying.

As a previous poster mentioned this is about power and control, not co-vid. I hope people remember this when it comes to the next election. Rule by law or rule of law - make your choice voters.

What next election? You're in the Army now woah woah You're in the Army now... In the Army now... 555

That one is in the too hard basket for the useless, lazy incompetents here.

I've already noticed that some provinces extended the ban until 15 May, others 31 May.  Have not heard what Chiang Mai is going to do.

It will be a nationwide ban. This province thing is BS.

Do you honestly think that the voters will be given a fair chance at voting? The rules will be changed to ensure that this group stay in power.

with some well thought out proposals

Your expectations are WAY too high...

The whole covid virus ordeal plus lockdown is stressful enough, but this constant changing of plans, making new proposals only to change them the next day, issuing additional bans, proposing to lift them on such and such a date only to change that again is simply too much. Their incompetence is make the whole situation unbearable (for me at least).

Think before you speak. Agree on a course of action before you make it public and then stick to it!

Protection money and payments to influential patrons and the Police continue as normal in these unprecedented times.

Just made our payments for this month as normal.

Without wanting to take the thread off course.

The answer is yes, those who support these dinosaurs, are like there erstwhile politcial name sakes are dying off due to old age, so their voter base is shrinking. I think the youth are far more savvy and determined than most on TVF give them credit for, and as we saw with the momentous result of FFP in the last election (which scared the pants of the establishedment who were completely broadsided by the 8 million odd votes FFP got)  despite is dissolution, their voter base still remains strong and will vote along similar lines next time. Give the governments shocking handling of the social and economic fallout of co-vid 19, I can see PTP taking back many of the votes they lost and people deserting the coalition parties like rats off a sinking ship.

I may be wrong but i think PPP and Prayut have blown is spectacularly - added to this the internal power struggles in PPP with Prawit being lined up to leader of the party, and unsurp Utamas, that party itself could well fracture and splinter along power cliche lines as the places at the trough are rearranged.

The dinosaurs are looking to the sky and the asteroid is getting closer.

Anyway back to topic - Advice to the PM - Damage limitation advice - make beer available.

I think they are too afraid. My guess is they are working on the theory that if they don't actually tell anyone that the ban is extended then no one will notice....

I agree with your second sentence however, personally, if I may, I’ll replace your first sentence with the following:

I think they are clueless.”

Until further notice guys. That's what it says. This is truely insanity on a grand scale. On the one hand they brag how well Thailand has done with the virus yet do this. This needs to get into the international media. One things for sure the majority of Thailand that hates Prayut now really, really hate him. Next election will be 20+ yrs from now.

It's important to point out, that while 50k doesn't sound like much, he is likely receiving similar amounts from many other companies.

All Alcohol sales open tomorrow at Tesco On Nut.   ????

The government must be really confident about the ability of their tanks and helicopters. Another month of unemployment, no income and no food is not going to sit well with many Thais.

20,000 traffic related deaths annually... but hey, that's cool!
No need to change any laws to save lives there!
