Popular Post steelepulse
Face Masks Pose Serious Risk to Healthy People. No Scientific Evidence That Masks Are Effective Against COVID-19 Transmission, Neurosurgeon Says. https://techstartups.com/2020/05/15/face-masks-pose-serious-risk-healthy-people-no-scientific-evidence-masks-effective-covid-19-transmission-neurosurgeon-says/ In a long editorial published at technocracy, Dr. Blaylock said there is no scientific evidence that masks are effective against COVID-19 transmission. “As for the scientific support for the use of face mask, a recent careful examination of the literature, in which 17 of the best studies were analyzed, concluded that, “ None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection.” Keep in mind, no studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission. He said face masks can make cancer, heart attacks, and strokes worse. “People with cancer, especially if the cancer has spread, will be at a further risk from prolonged hypoxia as the cancer grows best in a microenvironment that is low in oxygen. Low oxygen also promotes inflammation which can promote the growth, invasion and spread of cancers. Repeated episodes of hypoxia has been proposed as a significant factor in atherosclerosis and hence increases all cardiovascular (heart attacks) and cerebrovascular (strokes) diseases.” There's a long list of references at the bottom of the article. thaibeachlovers
Don't talk facts! You'll probably have plenty of people that think because THEY think masks work ( without any scientific evidence to support their opinion ) we all should lambasting you and saying you are responsible for people dying if you don't wear one. Thank goodness the NZ government went with the conclusion that there is no evidence they work. I've been having that argument for the past several weeks. I asked for any scientific evidence that masks work and got nothing that I've seen posted.
Popular Post stephenterry
Look, like probably 100% of the posters on here, we only wear masks when out doing shopping trips - maybe one hour at a time, max. And that's mostly to gain supermarket access, and comply with Thai cultural behaviour. As for the other 23 hours, I'm sure the body would have sufficient oxygen intake not to be concerned by Dr Blaylock's summation. Instead, why doesn't he knuckle down and offer alternative preventative solutions from infection - apart from social distancing - which is mostly ignored by shoppers here.

Ask a meaningless question get a meaningless answer. No one ever says what is meant by a mask works or not. There is copious proof that if I properly wear my N95 mask it will prevent the virus from entering my airways, almost 100%. Of course masks 'work'. The question many elude to is do mask policies work. -- not if you are not exposed to carriers -- not if some wear and some don't -- not in the presence of self elected experts telling everyone masks don't work.
