He had a blue shirt on and seemed completely fine throughout the video.

Fine?  At 1:06 in the linked video he was lying on the floor being covered with a white sheet.

Never heard of a thai being called a pensioner before. The OP title made me think it was about an expat possibly, but then it might have been me reading into it.....

It always surprises and saddens me how swift Thais are in turning a minor incident into one involving violence. The idea of discussing anything rationally just doesn't seem to happen.

Loosing their face [sic] probably would kill them, "losing face" wouldn't.  Trust a Thaivisa poster...

Nah. Loss of face is a greater defeat than loss of life to many Thais.  Been here long enough to know that !

My point was, obviously, lost on you.  Loosing, losing...?

And the moral of the story,

Don't park your bloody bike where you are not supposed too

Unless i missed something the old lady was like a savage and needs sectioning

It seemed a lot picked on the guard doing his job, send this woman down or i give up.

instead of saying 'thais' say 'people', this is not a thai phenomenon, people in countries all over the world let minor issues escalate into far more serious situations. people generally need to recognise when to take a step back and calm down

You watched a different video to me

I saw the unblurred and unedited version yesterday

He appeared fine at the end and then it cut to him dead on the floor

Something must have happened afterwards

If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a trillion times stop exaggerating.

I don't know why it is, but Thais have little to no self-control. I believe that is at least part of the reason that Thailand, alone in the region, forbids gambling as too many people would suffer. As for quickly turning to anger, strange when we are told that Thais hate confrontation and avoid it at all costs, I have written before how being trapped in a rigid class system eventually becomes too much for some. Having to bow down to their supposed betters in every area of Thai society and throughout their life, the slightest thing can set them off and they finally snap. Add the fact that many don't have the reasoning or intelligence to discuss something rationally, and people simply lash out.

The lady involved in the original scrape was not the wife who was called to the scene with the bike's papers and a knife in her bag!

So she wasnt  blocking any car park then

It was only a paring knife, think of the outcome if granny pulled a hand gun

It makes the mind boggle

The guard would not stop. A helmet was used as a weapon and Phayao said she acted in self defence after she got a fruit paring knife from her bag.

Guilty....

Are you sure about that, other counties in the region have boarder casinos but their citizens are not allowed in to gamble.

You could be right. Thanks.

Yes, quite strange.

And every time my gf turns on the tv, it is on a soap opera that is about anger, screaming and violence.

It always amazes me that it can be so, in a culture of Wai's, Khap, Kha, and a Phohm added lately.

Such a contradiction...

No one said that she was, it was the woman with the knife whose parking wasn't appreciated by the security guard.

The security guard did a poor job of conflict resolution...

Yes, but we're in Thailand so we're commenting on the situation in this instance and in this country.
