I have refused to take my blood pressure at clinics recently because of lack of hygiene practices, using a arm pad that others had recently used.!

I'm going to the hospital tomorrow to inquirer about a test for them to do,if its available.

The default it seems in the health system here is checking one's temp , blood pressure, weight , height and a musical chairs  queue! Any suggestions

Wear a long sleeve shirt.  The blood pressure cuff can go over the clothing and as long as its not to thick no problem in obtaining a blood pressure.  The Finger O2 Sat meter is different, just ask that they wipe it down with an alcohol wipe before they put it on your index finger. Remember to wear your mask, and then take the shirt off when you get home, wash it and shower if your are feeling you were exposed....

Too much headache!

Please think about the way that the virus spreads.

Your arms are not cut/injured?

You could be concerned that the nurse(?) comes to close but really....

Buy your own one. I bought 3 on eBay (2 for friends) - they all work great and even talk. Buy one for the arm and not for the wrist. I paid about 700 Baht. I compared them with the one in the hospital - I took them with me. All showed correct values.

It helped me a lot to have it. I found out that as soon as I drink some beer my blood pressure goes to 180+ and this with pills. I didn't drink anything since the alcohol ban and my blood pressure is now at about 120 and this without pills.

I knew this before already. After one day with beers it takes several days until it goes to normal values again. Would not have found this out without my own device. I am happy that I bought it and it has been problem free for years.

Agree, but having your own monitor won't help much at the hospital. As the guy says, the blood pressure test is pretty much de rigeur. From my own experience, I can't think of a worst place to be, coronavirus wise, than a public hospital, (except maybe a boxing match, 555). The blood pressure test is the least of your worries. These places are crowded, very crowded, keeping personal space is almost impossible, unless things have changed drastically since the last time I was there.

Hospitals and clinics are always a danger - not only at Corona times. But see it like this - with so few Corona cases (reported) it is highly unlikely that you get Corona there but still everything else like before.
