I have just visited my local 'visa run' company and been told by them that shortly [if not now] non immigrant 'o' visas are or will be a thing of the past [world wide] ,surely this can't be so .If anyone has any info. to the contrary please let me know.I was also told the only similar alternative would be a triple entry lasting 9 months with extentions .

It is almost impossible for the varying immigration offices to provide consistent information so what would give some "local 'visa run' company" the edge of knowing what is happening??

That is for Thailand, let alone anything outside the country of which the majority of Thais don't have too much savvy geo-graphically.

I wouldn't waste too much time worrying about it.

Believe you mean multi entry version in the local area. The single entry O or B non immigrant visa is still available but you are expected to extend your permission to stay at immigration inside Thailand if you require more than 90 days.
