Just a tad with insufficient counter weights on the rear. Also, should have a center ram near the front axle. Way to much load for a light truck.

Well I´m a crane operator and have - at least some - knowledge about these truck mounted cranes with fixed basket. They are constructed in such a way that - if setup and used correctly  - they cannot tip over. For example all support legs should be fully extended - and it actually looks like they are in this case. (Newer cranes are likely to be equipped with vario-base - This looks like and older one) .. That leave us with only to other possible causes. Either the fail-safe system had a defekt or the fail-safe system has been tampered with. in case it was option one it would not have been possible to operate the crane at all.. but ermm.. your guess is as good as mine..

Would you think that after this accident the crane goes to Japan or Germany for a repairjob?? Or will somchai the local welder/eletrician fix it for them...?
