OK I said what I said, I'm leaving for now. Read real history books about Churchill, (Not gushing bs from Cummings puppet) it is clear what kind of person he was overall - just accept it, it won't hurt.

I think most people accept Churchill did and said some bad things. But they also appreciate he led and rallied our nation in the fight against Hitler's Nazi Germany and played a huge part in preventing world domination by a fascist dictatorship. His leadership during that time earned him the right to be revered.

That's why he was voted as the greatest ever Brit in 2002.

They say that it is about defending the war monuments and then they defend people doing  Nazi salutes.

You misunderstood , no one has "defended" anyone doing Nazi salutes

Posters stated that they were not actually doing Nazi salutes at all .

Theres a difference between defending something and denying that it exists

Always amusing to read comments from people who complain of their home culture being subverted by the influx of foreigners......all while living in Thailand.

Oh, the irony !

The only irony is that you apparently don't realise how meaningless your comment is.

Expats in Thailand don't demand that the Thais change their culture to whatever the expats think it should be, Expats in Thailand are not thugs, vandals and hooligans- if they were the Thai cops would soon show them the error of their ways ( pity the British cops don't get stuck into the thugs and hooligans, but Britain has given into thuggery, IMO ). Expats in Thailand are for the most part working or retired- they are not stupid youths that think their point of view is important enough to cause chaos in the streets over. Expats in Thailand are not arrogant know it alls.

Not a true patriot. So far nobody knows who he is or what is his affiliations may be. Could be an anteater, even.

There is also denying what you can see with your own eyes. This is a very common thing when your eyes don’t want to believe what they are seeing. You are desperate for it not to be a Nazi salute as that will confirm the sort of people that are in the crowd that you support.

Yes, he missed that important fact out.

I stopped reading there or I was gonna end up like pissypants on the demo yesterday.

Thats the sad thing. The Thai Armchair Army can’t even see their own hypocrisy.

Stupid comment. The moron mayor has allowed all the public toilets to be closed so there isn't anywhere to go now ( that was the case when I visited 2 years ago- I doubt it has changed ).

If you have something sensible to say I might listen, but lets not get into a bickerfest. Somebody that mentions that the howling rabid mob comitted violence and crimes last week and you are offended, and lets not forget that these screaming banshees were aided and abetted by the police, so please don't talk to me about hypocrisy.

You might want to change your userphoto. IMO Boris has shown himself to be a gutless bag of wind by not ordering the police to clear that rabble out of the streets and to arrest anyone that vandalises historical monuments.

I used to support him, but he has proven a failure in this situation. Unfortunately there is probably no one with a spine in government anymore. Just a bunch of PC space wasters now, IMO.

That witty comment had already been made in this thread , in the first few pages .

You need to get in early if you want to tell a usual  joke as they usually get told quite quick

It's not just London most public toilets are closed due to covid-19, but toilets on trains are open, work that one out.

Thugs are using this as an excuse to run riot. Most of them probobly dont have a clue what people are protesting about.

Half of them are brain dead anyway.

They don't want trains awash in urine, but apparently it's OK to have the streets of the city stinking.

I choose who to have on my user photo. Lets look at the evidence, the electorate voted to leave the EU, Boris delivered, Parliament was as much use as a chocolate fireguard, Boris got rid of the deadwood that was disingenuous MPs and had an election and came out trumps with over an eighty seat majority, he said that we would not be having anymore extensions and would be leaving the EU in Jan 2021, guess what he delivered. Seriously, what is there not to like, he has done everything the UK has asked of him, maybe too soon to put up a statue at this turbulent time, but surely one has to be on the cards.
