Ahead of Trump rally, coronavirus cases surge in Oklahoma, other states

Featured Replies

Shall we check back and compare the relative spikes from where there have been mass protest and where there have been Trump rallies?  In, say a week and again after two weeks?

What’s even more odd is your interpretation of this news as blame being put on Trump’s rallies.   Quite frankly, a very odd conclusion for any rational person to draw.

Odd to see this spike being blamed on Trump's rally that didn't even happen yet. Is it possible the abandoning of social distancing and lockdown by the communist/BLM revolters has been the cause of th

Virus spread through mass protests won't be reported by the news media.

If you read the article you'll not that Garcetti's comment was based on

a surmise, not based on actual data. If you want something based on data here it is:

Research Determines Protests Did Not Cause Spike In Coronavirus Cases

Protests against systemic racism held in 300-plus U.S. cities following the death of George Floyd did not cause a significant increase in coronavirus infections, according to a team of economists who have published their findings in a 60-page paper released by the National Bureau of Economic Research; these somewhat surprising results are supported by Covid-19 testing data in many populous cities where demonstrations were held...

The study’s conclusions are supported by Covid-19 testing data in many of the cities that were home to prevalent protesting. For instance, the Minneapolis Department of Health reported that more than 15,000 people were tested at centers set up in communities affected by the protests, and 1.7% of tests came back positive—below the statewide average of about 3.6%.

The article goes on to say that one of the reasons this is the case is that most demonstrators wore masks.

Except that the fox news piece doesn't actually cite any research. And oddly enough, you won't find that research reported on in fox news.

Go back to read what I replied to before you start.

Quoting Fox news usually offends the snowflakes, and can't access Fox on a regular basis here in TL.

Your point being?  You asserted that news media would not cover any spikes following protests.  I showed an example.  And you deflect.  I'll take it that you concede I am right and you are wrong.

Anyway, we shouldn't worry about a surge in coronavirus cases because both trump and his blonde PR doozy have said that if they slow down the testing, then the numbers will decrease!!!

A bit like the following in its logic......

The reason our country is having so many heatwaves is because we have so many more thermometers!

More than any other country!

If we stop looking at thermometers we'd have very few days over 80°, if any!

Are you saying Fox news is better than the liberal backed news stations? I'm glad you got that straightened out. And I'll say again, I don't watch fox news.

No.  You cannot possibly reach that conclusion from my using Fox as my example to show you being wrong (again).  Whether you watch Fox or not is immaterial.

Time again again when you offer "information" you then fail to show any evidence for your statements.  And when asked simple questions, are unable to answer them.  I leave it to readers to draw their own conclusions about your thought processes and intention to engage in debate rather than try and obfuscate and effect - by to me it is similar an style and (lack of) substance to the tweets and utternences of Idol.

What mainstream media do you watch or read?
