It is clearly designed to scare away people away from the rally. It's a flu virus that kills 0.3% of those infected WAKE UP.  I don't hear you liberals saying this about the LOOTING crowds.

Scaring away, not possible with 1 million wanting to attend. Please, stop writing nonsense.

I don't see the left defending Bolton, he is and will remain a war hawk. But defending his right to publish a book that seems to be criticising the president, and by the looks of it without revealing state secrets, yes, he should be entitled.

Comey, you mean the guy who gave trump the presidency and after that was vilified by trump supporters for doing his job? Far from loved by the left.

What’s even more odd is your interpretation of this news as blame being put on Trump’s rallies.   Quite frankly, a very odd conclusion for any rational person to draw.

'ahead of the rally' means the rally is not being blamed. Why do you even post things like that that are clearly not true?

Because it is easier to   blame the boogeyman than it is to accept that the spike is occurring in the states that had abandoned social distancing over the US Memorial Day weekend. The surge in  the infections is in the regions where there aren't BLM or "commie" rallies.

The people who are being hospitalized for Covid19 now isn't the demographic of those who have been attending the  rallies and protests.

On a positive note it may be a good thing that so many trump fans will  be infected after they attend the Trump rallies in Tulsa and the GOP convention in Florida. it will drive home the point that their dear leader mismanaged the pandemic response.

Seems stupid to me to hold rallies when cases are spiking. Then again nobody ever blamed Trump of being concerned about others and being smart.

Seems logical that all rallies are dangerous on both sides. For me that is logical maybe you have a trouble understanding that because of the orange colored glasses ?

Virus makes no distinction between political leaning.

Please go, get at it, hope there are millions attending his rallies.

Thanks to the protesters, the police and BLM we are getting closer to herd immunity, so far the only working recipe to stop Corona viruses.

Actually, it's not a sure thing that individual immunity is going to last long enough for populations to attain herd immunity. Early evidence is encouraging though.

What the evidence shows now is that masks are probably the single most effective step to slowing the transmission of Covid. Imagine if Donald Trump actively and enthusiastically encouraged their use instead of displaying a deep ambivalence.

Exactly. Thank you we are in total agreement. Any mass gathering of people is of course a risk to spread the virus. So, to the crux of the matter. Can we also accept that 1000s of mass gatherings across the nation from LA to NYC every day for the last 2 or 3 weeks must be much more dangerous in the great scheme of things than one event in Tulsa? And this is so contentious because Trump's rally is also following the much praised mass gatherings by weeks. The BLM/anti-democracy/antifa mob started the gatherings, nobody complained about the risk, so why the sudden double standards? and the inflammatory headline?

Well, one big difference is that if you're outdoors there is a much lesser chance of contracting covid. It would be great if all demonstrators wore masks. They don't because there's no hierarchy in these groups to enforce it.

But in the case of President Trump's rally, which he has promised to be the first of many, it's in an enclosed space and the people in charge so far have refused to enforce the wearing of masks. Not surprising given President Trump's stance on the issue.

Attending a demonstration to pressure government to do something about Police murdering Americans is not the same thing as attending a publicity rally to stroke the ego of the nation’s narcissistic President.

Throughout history people have chosen to put their own lives on the line to bring about political and social progress.

Equating people who do so with political followers willing to indemnify their leader against the health consequences of attending his rallies is utter nonsense.

A pretty nasty off topic post has been removed.

The thread is about virus rates surging in areas including where Mr. Trump will hold a rally.

It is not a topic about race discussion or crime.

The problem is that they're also endangering the lives of others who choose not to participate.

You use the term left for all who do not agree with your views. Heck, you even use it for extreme right wing groups, simply because only left can do wrong.

Well, they are the ones seeking to destroy Western capitalism and the billions it has lifted out of poverty.

Have you actually read the Black Lives Matter manifesto? Or looked at who is funding these useful idiots and why?

50 states cities participated in that protest and riots during a lockdown and restriction which many cities  which were still practicing regardless of the risks involved.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_George_Floyd_protests_in_the_United_States#:~:text=The protests spread to over, speaking out against police brutality.

Cuomo  is the gov of  the state that represents one of those states with  which was the epi center of the virus. he was quoted as saying

“Get a test. Get a test,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo told people who have been participating in rallies and marches in memory of George Floyd.

IMOP,Why should people who protest and hold rallies have virtually  carte blanch to express their support for a cause and people who support change be ridiculed during the same virus circumstances.

Mr. Trump rallies are using  temp checks, hand sanitizers and masks! The only thing in common in my opinion between the protest rallies and people who want change rallies are they are standing together united.

Is it possible the abandoning of social distancing and lockdown by the communist/BLM revolters has been the cause of this spike instead? I'm sure after praising and supporting the violent protesters for 2 weeks mainstream media can not be so crass as to whinge when the President holds his rally, that would be too ridiculous for words. Let's see.

Huh?  Nobody is blaming the spike on Trump's rally--what a ridiculous statement.  What is being pointed out is cases are spiking.  So, maybe not a good time to hold a rally with the virus not under control but actually spiking instead.  But, Trump could care less-it's always me, me, me with him. And, no, he will not take responsibility for whatever happens.

Nobody blames the rally, but definitely Trump himself is to blame, for ending the lockdowns too quickly, with as only purpose so he could rally.

He has been warned about this by experts, weeks ago, but in Trump's world he is the only expert.

You know, he has that thing ( pointing to his orange head)

Wonder why that is with a virus that will go away without a vaccine, by his own words

US figures - Number of cases 2234471, number of deaths 119941

Now then, this is how percentages work - (119941/2234471) * 100 = 5.36%, not 0.3%

Unless, of course, you are suggesting that the US figures are totally fake.  To get to your beloved 0.3% would require 39,980,000 proven infections.

The virus is less likely to spread when you’re outside.  The BLM protests were held outside with most protesters wearing masks.  The Trump ego boasting rally will be held inside where it’s more easily spread.   That’s the difference.  Also it will be interesting to see how many will be wearing masks.

And of course they'll surge before and after every Trump rally with the MSM blowing the narrative up and completely out of proportions.  In the meanwhile, Covid cases will go down before and after BLM and Antifa riots as Covid takes a knee.

American as well a most of the First World are now engaged in Third-World politics of the most vile nature.  How sickening.

Maybe I am a bit dumb, but can someone explain to me why after the coronavirus disaster that America is experiencing, Trump has a 40% approval rating?

Are 40% of the US population nuts?

Boris is getting hammered in Britain for Britain's dreadful Trump-like response, hammered daily by the Tory press as well as the opposition papers.

There are both good and bad acts by all people. Except when it comes to politics. Then it apparently has to be 100% bad or 100% good. No thinking allowed.
