Some business travel to Thailand may resume next month, official says

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand could allow inbound international travel to resume next month for business purposes, the aviation regulator said on Thursday, as the country seeks to revive an economy hit badly by the impacts of the coronavirus and global travel curbs.

CCSA to reconsider new version of ‘travel bubble’ scheme next week after rejecting initial proposal

Despite gaining Cabinet approval, the “travel bubble” proposal was rejected by the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) because the scheme does not make any provisions for a 14-day quarantine.

Thai central bank to develop payment system prototype for business using digital currency

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank unveiled on Thursday plans to build a prototype of a payment system for businesses using central bank digital currency (CBDC), or traditional money but in digital form being developed by monetary authorities around the world.

Pattaya targets bars masquerading as restaurants, markets for booze sales, ignoring health restrictions

Grousing begins over Pattaya South Road closure

Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome meets with representatives from the Provincial Electricity Authority, Provincial Waterworks Authority and CAT Telecom to discuss the project to lay new electrical systems and bury overhead power and communications wires.

 

The grousing has begun over the partial closure of South Road, with motorists and neighbors bemoaning the increased traffic congestion.
