I can't explain Thailands apparent 'success' but putting them in the same camp as South Korea in COVID response is a farce.    Thailand did nothing at all until March, had the first reported

  • thailand sure has done a good job of the covid-19 and must be congratulated for their efforts. do not let the guard down, however, to avoid second wave of infections.

Do you ever wonder why pretty much nobody talks about Thailand's COVID response other than Thailand and people with vested interests in Thailand?

Because Thailand is not big problem. Nobody die now= no report. The news about the bad place USA, UK, Brazil, Italy, Spain etc

Thousand+ dead everyday.

Thailand won praise from all sides, including the World Health Organisation, and has just been ranked second in the Global COVID-19 Index (GCI), which measured 184 countries’ effectiveness in dealing with the pandemic.

So you post an excerpt from a Thai site praising Thailands COVID response meant for Thai people, and you did so in reply to my post asking you why nobody talks about Thailands COVID response other than Thai people.

A new wave of fear is pushed, particularly from US and big finance since last week. One should ask himself for the agenda of this narrative or simpler, what should be covered up. I'd not be surprised if this is the prelude of the second leg of the big crash incoming.

died 'from' the virus or 'with' the virus is a figure i can't find?

I agree. All M71 has to do is see the yearly deaths by flu in the US and how many deaths there are already from Covid.

But maybe he is an anti-fact person. So sad to see a mind go wrong.

The world is bracing for a "second wave" of coronavirus infections

You don't have to brace for anything.. Just choose wisely who you open up borders too !That's how it got in, in the first place !

Yinn, Thailand has done an exceptional job in keeping the COVID-19 virus transmission rate as low as possible. Full credit goes to our Khun Prayut Chan O Cha for his strategic enforcement and timely suppression of the border entry points and airport lockdowns.

Khun Prayut has implemented all the correct procedures and policies to assist in zero to minimal infection rates. I don't listen to the farang nayers, some posters don't even live in Thailand, they just want to moan & whinge because it's like taking medicine ...they feel better after their rant.  lol

I 100% agree with you, and this is coming from someone who does not support Prayut!

Are you joking

How many dead off coronavirus without being infected.

How many can not feed there children or themselves.

How many doesn't even have a place to stay any longer.

How many people loose all there savings houses cars etc.

How many people get all there stuff stolen.

There are too many problems in this governments handling of coronavirus. 58 dead.

Surly had coronavirus in Dec 2019

Action come march 18.

Either you are blind or completely unaware of what is happening around you.

But this will drag on for probably 1 year +before we see the end of this handling and already out of control as too many Thai people are in over there head and no way out.

Way more than the 1 millions infected in Brazil.

Even start coming to the middle class too.

This is the worst handling ever and on top off this thailand is in a deep depth with loan made by these people for which corruption is normal so normal so all Thais must loose if they don't get first-hand.

So your joke is not even funny.

A quick recovery and prevention from covid is also good indication of a strong and caring society where people come together and help fight off and prevent danger.

Now look at countries that have been heavily effected by Covid, such as the UK and USA.  Look whats happening there now.... Massive groups of people protesting & fighting during a pandemic with zero social distancing !

That to me is a sign of a broken society, and that is one of the reasons why the virus spread so rapidly in such countries.

The two graphs in that article are based on Covid19 figures provided by each country. Since Thailand has done extremely low numbers of testing and the real number of Covid19 figures, for both cases and deaths, are not known in Thailand the entire article is based on a wholly erroneous premise. You'd think journalists would check their facts. If they did, they would see this:

It is hard to understand that there are still so many deniers ... on this forum as well ...

Some will be denying until the end . WHY ?

How many of these people were elderly, obese, insulin resistant and had multiple comorbidities?  From what I've read, it's about 99.95 percect.  If you fall into the above category, time to start getting healthier and boosting your immune system.  This fear mongering is out of hand and for some reason a lot of people are still drinking the cool aid.

The Second Wave.  You mean the boogie-man story created by the same people who locked their citizens down and then repeated incessantly by the mainstream propaganda networks in order to continue to cow their populace into submission.  That Second Wave?

Right now the Ministry of Creative Narratives could roll chicken bones on the ground, wave a amulet over them, mumbles some Pali, and the Second Wave will be averted.

But a scientific solution is what the doctor ordered though.  So what will be forwarded as a solution to the public will be the scientific communities equivalent of rolling chicken bones on the ground, waving a amulet over them, mumbling some Pali over them after which with much fanfare, photo-ops, and mass media attention and hyperbole, Thailand's success at averting the dreaded Second Wave will be celebrated.

What everyone misses during the exercise in smoke and mirrors is that the real objective here is to force every single human on the planet to submit to having a vial full of untested chemicals injected into their bodies which they will pay for. After which the entire world's population will need to submit to a schedule of yearly vaccinations to "keep humanity safe from disease."  Literally trillions of dollar of potential revenues are wrapped up in forced vaccination programs and those who make them will be totally indemnified for any damage created by the untested, "fast-tracked" drugs.  That's where this is heading.  Everything else is theatre.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. Ask yourself this....how many people do I know PERSONALLY that have died from “Covid”?

Almost certainly the answer is NONE!

Doesn’t seem that deadly now, does it?

On paper Thailand has faired well and maybe dodged the bullet but its at a massive economic cost that might cause Thailand to implode! but the UK has been a shambles, they were directed to empty the hospitals in preparation and sent old folks to homes, where it spread like wild fire, they were thrown under the bus... here they have a track and trace of sorts in the UK they messed even that up... and it might be scrapped - UK kept flights coming in, no masks etc... late lockdown --- UK NHS staff to busy doing TIK TOK videos... !

They "are still drinking the cool aid" because most governments work in conjunction with the media outlets to create an extremely effective propaganda network.
Average members of the unthinking public, the majority, buy whatever "authoritative" spin is pumped out on the airwaves or via the Internet.
Since Edward Bernay's time, propaganda has evolved into an art form.  And Orwell's "Ministry of Truth" is alive and well in this 21st Century world.  It's now promoting a seasonal flu as something that it is not. And the propaganda is highly effective.  Most governments world-wide who have taken this approach have a knee firmly on the necks of their citizens.  And their citizens will dance almost any dance they are instructed to perform to get that knee off.  Humankind's basic freedoms are taken away; a few freedoms are reinstated if citizens obey and comply; the citizenry express love and adoration for those who were moments ago choking the life out of them.  Stockholm Syndrome on a global scale.  Need people compliant?  Roll out The Second Wave, or a brand new pandemic (next year).
It's truly fascination to watch although it sucks being part of the world's population who are firmly in the cross-hairs of this campaign.

If I were Thailand, I would be careful about congratulating myself prematurely. Whatever the reason, I am happy to be here and not in the USA or Europe.

last weekend a mass protest in the Netherlands, protesters declaring facemasks and social distancing is "nonsense", hugging eachother. The west has a HUGE problem with unruly citizens with feeble opinions and a cynical attitude towards health experts. One reason Thailand done so great is itscitizens are mature adults who realize the threat of an pandemic and act  united against that threat.
