Is that both the inpatient and outpatient coverages?  Do plan 1 work, as well?

I used Pacific Cross..20k deductible, with double the required coverage..about 27000...for the 55-60 group...will get a 10% discount if no claims..that included a 15% discount for 20k deductible, which I thought was a better value than a 25% deductible for 100k deductible...will take a closer look at LMG in December.

It does appear that the LMG deductible is for each occurrence, as opposed to annually...

Assuming this is an annual policy, does it cover COVID 19 tests and treatment and is there any stated overall cover up to US$1 million?

Also, Is it available as a short-term policy e.g. 3 weeks / 4 weeks?

Thanks...

During the hysteria in March..I emailed my agent, Clark, with PC, with similar questions.  Got a very fast response..yes, I was covered for COVID, with the caveat that they aren't paying for testing unless specifically ordered by a physician..Their office is on Sathorn..get another quote, and go have a talk with him..different companies and options are better for different ages and circumstances.  Funny, how many hear would quote defamation laws if you cared criticized some foreign owned restaurants french fries, but repeatedly call this a scam...but where is a single case of them not paying, as contracted?  But, no doubt, health insurance in general is somewhat of a nasty business and a losing proposition.

Hi Micky Mouse,

FYI > IO does ONLY accept IO-approved health-insurance policies from TGIA associated thai insurers ( https://longstay.tgia.org/home/companiesoa ).

Content-wise most of these thai IO-approved policies are worthless, so - if you go that road - you might as well opt for the cheapest one, which is the LMG Insurance Plan 1 with a 200K deductible (annual premium of 6.000 THB to 11.400 THB in the age bracket of 51 till 75), with the additional advantage that no medical exam is required when subscribing to that LMG-policy.

When you subscribe to that policy, you will receive the required Health-Insurance certificate by mail within 2-3 days (after approval and payment of the annual premium).

No need for including an 'overlap period' when subscribing, so - in order not to lose any days from the 1-year permission to stay - have the policy start on the day after your current permission to stay expires.  Also make sure that your insurance contact person at LMG confirms that he has uploaded your policy details on the TGIA insurer database, as that database will be checked by IO to verify whether your Health-Insurance Certificate matches with your policy details in the TGIA database.

Alternatively - once the borders are open again - you could also do a border-run and return VisaExempt, and then apply at your local IO for the 90-day Non Imm O Visa for reason of retirement and in the last 30 days of that 90-day Visa apply for a 1-year extension.  The requirements/conditions when applying for the 1-year extension of that Non Imm O - retirement Visa are identical as for the Non Imm O-A retirement extension, but do NOT require the thai IO-approved health-insurance scam.

>> I did PM you a comprehensive guideline document outlining all options/details to apply for that Non Imm O Visa for reason of retirement (also addressing the option of the 1-year MultipleEntry Non Imm O retirement Visa, that can be obtained at the thai consulate in Savannakhet).

So I guess if this policy covers COVID 19 tests (if ordered by a doctor) and COVID treatment and has a minimum overall cover of US$1,000,000, then it could be used by foreigners trying to return to LOS, e.g. Work Permit holders and others? Thanks. And do you know if the company also covers folks 75 yo to 80 yo? Thanks.

This cheap LMG Insurance Plan 1 (with 200K deductible) has been specifically created for meeting the thai IO-approved health-insurance policy requirement when applying for the 1-year extension of your original Non Imm O-A Visa for reason of retirement.

I am as good as certain (but stand to be corrected) that this low-cost policy does NOT provide a 1 million US $ coverage for Covid treatment.
