webfact
Be prepared for the new normal, minister tells educational institutions By The Nation Nataphol Teepsuwan, Minister of Education Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan urged educational institutes nationwide to organise teaching arrangements for the new normal of maintaining health safety. He made these remarks after overseeing the readiness at Yothinburana School in Bangkok's Bang Sue District on Wednesday (July 1) to prevent Covid-19. He said that after surveying educational institutions during the first day of the semester, both big and small schools have organised teaching to cope with the Covid-19 situation. "Our move to postpone the opening of a new semester to July 1 enabled educational institutes to make teaching arrangements to contain the spread of Covid-19 and gain confidence among students," he said. He urged schools to solve the issue of air ventilation in buildings and classrooms by managing study time and break time. "Meanwhile, schools must solve the issue of online learning by improving the interaction between teachers and students and allowing students to access digital devices," he added. He thanked directors, teachers, and parents for their assistance during the Covid-19 crisis to enable children to study from home. Yothinburana School has implemented measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, such as enabling students to check-in via ThaiChana platform, measuring students' body temperature, setting up hand sanitising checkpoints, ensuring everyone wears face masks, maintaining social distancing, and organising classrooms with 20 to 25 students. Why is everyone jumping on the "New Normal" bandwagon? surely a more correct thing would be the CV-19 normal ......!!

poskat
based on the current level of virus cases, these government policies to contain the spread are likely to be effective and held up to the rest of the world as the model to follow.....

Mapguy
The public health of Thailand has been remarkably successful in mediating the effect of the virus so far. Quite restrictive, in many ways, but so far very, very effective. Continued caution is advisable. The experiences of the USA and UK, for example, are appalling! This virus hasn't gone away and won't soon. And if an effective vaccine is found, hooray, but then we'll have to deal with the next one. There are numerous problems for schools to consider. Lack of teaching training is deal with distance learning is one as well as the lack of technology for so many students in order to take advantage of it. Some schools have serious overcrowding in inadequate space. And on and on.
