The Commerce Ministry has instructed its commercial counsellor at the Thai Trade Office in London to explain to foreign customers and retailers that getting coconuts picked by monkeys is not an exercise in cruelty, Somdet Susomboon, director general of the Department of International Trade Promotion, said on Sunday (July 5).

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank has not shut the door to further monetary policy easing, a deputy governor said, after cutting the key rate three times this year to a record low of 0.5% to support an economy badly hit by the coronavirus outbreak.

Phoenix, stranded and forgotten two years later

PHUKET: Two years after the Phoenix tour boat overturned and sank in storm conditions south of Phuket, killing 47 Chinese tourists in Thailand’s worst maritime disaster in modern times, the recovered wreck remains at Rattanachai Shipyard on the east side of Phuket Town, alone and forgotten.

PM wants Memorial Bridge to be repaired so it can become a landmark
