Needless hyperbole. Typically, children who become infected suffer only mild symptoms or none at all. The infection rate is not "spiralling out of control". More testing inevitably produces more positives - or, in many instances, false positives.

I had read about human sacrifices by the Aztecs to appease their gods. It appears the USA is called upon by The Donald and his ilk to continue human sacrifice in the name of money ... replacing the older gods.

Even Trump is right occassionally. 

Florida is copping it right now, but logic would have it that they could be the first location that gambles the viability of herd immunity.

 

Every human in the world has lost any real quality of life to this thing, not to mention the sabotaging of our economies due to lockdowns.

 

I actually think all eyes should be on Florida right now.

After what will be a certain percentage of infections and deaths, they could recover better in the long run.

 

Many have said all along, this thing is so widespread and infectious we can not hope to contain it.

Its probably just a matter of time before most of us get it anyway, and meanwhile we have caused massive damage to society with these lockdowns.

 

More people are depressed and in hardship, suiciding,

families split up, and economies in ruins.

 

Who wants to live like this?

 

I can see a day coming, when people will have had enough and 

"Pro-herd immunity" groups start gathering and rioting in numbers, to force the spread and therefor herd immunity.

 

You cant just keep closing industry and not allowing people to make a living.

 

It may be ok in countries that are paying stimulus & welfare, but in the countries that arent and people start getting hungry...well somethings gotta give.

Please , when you make a response, try to give a reasonable argument in rebuttal. Simply stating in your response that the person you are responding to lacks intelligence and common sense, simply points to your own attributes or lack of them.

 

Again, it is impossible for a nation to remain in lock-down. There are negatives to remaining in lock-down that have to be balanced. This is especially true as Doctors have claimed that this virus may have a round two or three. Additionally, the mortality rate of covid seems  quite low and families can be taught to take proper precautions if they have at risk people in the home. This can be argued for and against, many ways, but none of those arguments should be reduced to laying a claim that someone lacks intelligence or common sense.

 

I have laid out a case twice now that contains both common sense and intelligence.

Is this how you make a case for keeping schools closed? By compared the President of the United States to an Aztec Emperor? And those who believe in conservatism as no more then his subjects, or ilk as you put them?

 

In all things in life there are trade-offs. There is suffering from the illness, and there is suffering from the schools staying closed. To deny that long term ramifications of keeping schools closed exist simply is refusing to understand the argument.

Educators and thinking individuals have called for safety steps to be implemented before schools are open. So, yes there are trade offs. Safety steps and related costs to be covered before attempting to reopen schools. No sending home foreign students due to schools switching to the safer online courses. Trade off lives in the name of the economy ... human sacrifice.

Very sad. But to my knowledge this would be the first recorded case of children so young passing on COVID to an adult. Were any of the youngsters tested for the virus and found to be carriers? The report does not say.

 

The lady who unfortunately died was 61 and had asthma and "other health issues". Isn't it possible that either she or one of her fellow teachers became infected elsewhere and the virus got passed around the group?

Online learning does not stand up I am afraid to learning that takes place in the classroom, nor is it available to everyone, as not everyone has a laptop. Nor does it work for all students. good questions, I believe you know the answers, reason why opening schools when cases are on the rise is a terrible life and death decision,  as "7.9% of the population of the USA had asthma in 2018, Asthma is more common among females and children aged 5 to 14 years",  without systematic testing and tracing, good luck!
