Government blasted in parliament over the Egyptian COVID-19 debacle

Thailand’s opposition MPs have slammed the Government for its mishandling of the Egyptian military mission’s visit to Rayong and demanded Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha take full responsibility for the failings.

Seri Ruam Thai MP Raewat Visarutvech called for the Prime Minister’s resignation, saying that an apology is not enough and that the no-quarantine privilege, granted to foreign VIPs, including the Egyptian military mission, has angered the Thai people, who feel insulted.

Mr. Raewat said that he is very concerned, predicting that Thailand will soon have the first new case of locally acquired infection, there having been none over 50 consecutive days.

In Rayong’s Muang district, two youths at the D Varee Diva Central Rayong Hotel, who held posters demanding that the Prime Minister be held accountable, were whisked away by police prior to his arrival.

Freedom of speech gone ?

I suppose that when he has his, beloved, "state of emergency", he is free to treat his countrymen in which ever way he chooses.

Just wait till they get news of the 2 Thai flight to China that had 11 passengers with the virus which proves its  all a sham. Of course no free testing in Thailand is the big problem. The Chinese Avaiation Authority has just kicked Prayut in the Butt for hiding the truth about Covid free Thailand. Testing should be done before leaving Thailand from now on.

How can anyone really take it seriously that Thailand has so few cases and not a single domestic case for such a long time if a much smaller and more organized Singapore has hundreds of new cases every day.

The PM was hit by a plane already. Checked.

Followed by news from China that people from Thailand entering China have Covid 19

It's all been a sham 50+ days of no local infections... more like no testing!

PM is in serious trouble now.

No Mr Raewat, not the first few cases, maybe the first that the public will get to know about.

All this BS about no cases for 50 consecutive days, is hog wash.

If he ever took responsibility for anything hed have resigned years ago.

How many of those infected passengers were Thai nationals who boarded  in Thailand? Specific reference please.......

Thailand has a Parliament??? Who knew???  :coffee1:

The only things I ever hear/read about are... the Cabinet decided this or the Cabinet decided that.

The only time I ever hear/read about the Parliament are articles on how the members fail to show up for sessions.
