PM Prayut Chan-o-cha

After key government members tendered their resignations on Thursday (July 16), Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he will reshuffle the Cabinet as soon as possible.

Though he said he was under no pressure, he admitted that it was not possible that everyone will be satisfied with the reshuffle. He also said that not all individuals who have been recommended for the new line-up will be able to join as they are engaged with their current jobs.

Key Cabinet members tendered their resignations on Thursday at Government House.

Handing in their papers were Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana, Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Suvit Maesincee and Kobsak Pootrakool, deputy secretary-general to the PM for political affairs.

Except Somkid, all of them went personally to Government House to submit their own letters and handed over Somkid's resignation.

The OLD cabinet line hasn't pleased everyone either (and in fact very, very few), so what's new?

I think the cabinet was very good, all things considered, as do many I know. Gen Anupong continues to to en excellent job, especially in the fight against corruption.

What, in your opinion is wrong with it?

and this gentleman got to where he is now, corruption free, is that what you are saying? This promotion to general was purely on the merits of the job, and old fashioned hard work, is that what you are saying?
