Nothing gets your blood boiling like such articles, what can you say when in such difficult times for everybody you get to read such rubbish unnecessary and unhealthful sentiments, and i thought Thai people are alright, i guess not now...

One has to wonder about the accuracy.  How was the polling controlled?  Where were the respondents, cities, rural villages, tourist locations.  What age groups,etc.  Without much effort it is no problem to get manipulated poll numbers.

Since it refers to the recent incidents, Did they not ask whether the thai authorities concerned should be held to account for not properly implementing quarantine.

What makes Thai's think foreigners want to visit Thailand so much to expose themselves to Dangue Fever epidemic and high risk of being killed on the roads both far higher than risks of dying from Covid it would be wise to think more of the devastating down turn in Thai economy consequential high unemployment also competition from neighbouring countries attracting tourist who may have visited Thailand in the past. Cambodia is building the biggest airport in the world which will undoutably attract Tourists to a country with new hotels at far cheaper prices so Thai's beware as your wishes may come true

I'd guess it didn't take place in areas reliant upon international tourism.

imo, asians have a high herd immunity because of all the plagues they have been exposed to,

and europeans almost as high due to silk road / trade with asia,

china have exported nearly every pandemic to europe over time.

native americans & africans have a much lower immunity

Totally understandable. Covid is rampart in the US and UK and other countries. Why import cases. 

 

Now we have (some) freedom again would hate to see a  full lockdown again because of letting foreigners in. I feel the same as the Thai people. Its not worth the risk. 

 

Those that go through quarantine and testing are an other matter, but untested tourist arriving is a problem.

My weak maths gives me a total of 264.72% questioned and answering to reach the percentages shown in the article.

Not that I'm poll trusting guy, I'm not, but imo a better poll would be 3000 people, 1000 connected to the tourist industry in coastal areas, 1000 in BKK connected to the hotel industry and 1000 of general populous. My guess is that the result would be different.

This is correct. Many posters here live in tourist areas and if some bars stay closed they think that Thailand is destroyed. Perhaps for some them... The majority of Thais has other priorities.
