THB exchange rate to Euro steadily climbing for 1 month now

Recommended Posts

The THB exchange rate to Euro has been steadily climbing for 1 month now.

Any 'crystal ball' indicators whether it would be wise to transfer now or wait for it to climb further.

Below a screenshot from TransferWise.

Last month rate (June 20) > 1 Eur = 34,6835

Today (July 20) > 1 Eur = 36,2839

Sure, 2018 was before covid

Pound hasn't been above 40 for the last 10 months

3 Feb 2020, 27 Feb 2020, 9 Mar 2020, 15 April 2020 = 41.1 (Xe.com)

I managed to change at 41 on two of those occasions.

It is generally accepted to post the mid market rate...

Posters claim they exchanged at 41.22 Baht, so why would post mid market rate, when that is not the exhange rate?

Incorrect. Posters stated that your ridiculous statement (that THB/GBP had not been over 40 for 10 months) was a lie.

I moved money via TW on 15th April at 41.10

In my experience the Baht is tied to the USD and here to a certain range. If the Euro goes up against the Baht it is because the Euro goes up against the USD.

Below a screenshot from TransferWise.

Last month rate (June 20) > 1 US $ = 31,02

Today (July 20) > 1 US $ = 31,79

So, since beginning of July the THB is not only losing ground to the Euro, but also to the US $ (as well as to the Aussie $).

25th February 2020 = 41.01    &   3rd April 2020 = 40.75

If you all want to be cherry pickers to the few days it was above 40, why don't you cherry-pick what the poster said?

Here it is again, now please remind me when Covid started, and find me the rates of 41 to the Baht in the 10 months prior to that date.

It just moves in a range - nothing to be exited about so far. If it goes well above 33 then I see a change in the trend.

When you think it "started"? When it was found in China or later?

Pandemic not started  yet when they find covid-19!

And here is what you looking for!

A bit of 1997 would be nice.

Back then Thai government could not support their currency against the US$ and had to let it free float.
