I use Transferwise, they exchange at the mid-market rate.

  • This is good news for my pension, paid in euros.   Having said that, seeing the euro climbing against most currencies, not only the baht, shows how deeply disturbed the financial markets are

Sterling made a very nice recovery almost back to pre Covid levels now.

Though of course that has more to do with the USD weakness than the UK.

When I started this thread July 20, the exchange rate was 1 Eur = 36,2839

The THB exchange rate to Euro has been steadily climbing for over 1 month now.

It looks as if today it will go over 37 THB.

Below a screenshot from TransferWise.

Last month rate (June 27) > 1 Eur = 34,6795

Today (July 27) > 1 Eur = 36,9526

The only reason for almost every European currency getting stronger is the weak USD. It has almost nothing to do with the THB getting weaker. Don't forget that the exchange rate at TW is the Mid-market rate. People using swift transfers only gets the TT buying rate.
