BANGKOK (Reuters) - Protesters rallied at the headquarters of Thailand's army on Monday, accusing it of wasting taxpayers' money on procurements and renewing demands for Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha's resignation, the latest show of public opposition to his rule.

Central bank governor says Thai economy does not need bailout from IMF

The Thai economy is strong enough and the country does not need to seek a financial bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), although its GDP this year may be the lowest in the region, Bank of Thailand Governor Veerathai Santipraphob said at a seminar on Monday.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Interviews of candidates for Thailand's next central bank governor will take place on Tuesday as originally planned, the head of the selection committee said, going back on an earlier decision to delay the process.
