Ex-PM Yingluck cries foul over recent NACC ruling

Former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has cried foul over the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s ruling, which faulted her, former PM Office Minister Niwatthamrong Thamrong Paisan and former secretary-general to the Prime Minister, Suranand Vejjajiva, for alleged malfeasance in office relating to the spending of 240 billion baht of tax payer’s money to promote the “Thailand 2020” project.

In her Facebook post today, Yingluck Shinawatra said she questions why the NACC appears so keen to go after her, with two cases being wrapped up, and rulings decided against her, in just one month, while being slow with cases against the current Government.

She said that she feels that the graft fighting body is being quite generous to the Government, raising questions among the public regarding the integrity of the NACC.

I think you are partially correct. The army is not the protagonist here, but those (He) who controls the army. If these claims are justified, what about all the money spent since then promoting high speed rail, the nonsensical Thailand 4.0 and pointless EEC?

Do you really believe the Thai government has sent out a search warrant for these people? I don't believe so. At the moment they're just not welcome in Thailand anymore, but apart from that, it seems to me these people are free to go anywhere else. They might have lost many assets in Thailand as well perhaps.

Did you all overdose on your viagra ?

Maybe she can talk with the men from RedBull, maybe he knows a solution.

For every problem in Thailand is a solution.

As we have seen many times before, the NACC are just a corrupt tool of this corrupt government.

I believe that was her best "bummed-out" look posed just for this article.  ????

It was 240 million, not billion. Should be corrected.

Yes, Interpol will not get involved in political charges (that is why the Shinawatras can go on shopping trips to the UK and elsewhere without being arrested by Interpol officers). Quote from Interpol's "Decision by the Commission Report" March 2017.

11. Matters of political character:  Article 3 of INTERPOL’s Constitution provides that “[i]t is strictly forbidden for the Organization to undertake any intervention or activities of a political (…) character.”  Article 34 of the RPD states the following: - 34(2): “(…) prior to any recording of data in a police database, the National Central Bureau, national entity or international entity shall ensure that the data are in compliance with Article 3 of the Organization’s Constitution”. - 34(3): “To determine whether data comply with Article 3 of the Constitution, all relevant elements shall be examined, such as: (a) nature of the offence, namely the charges and underlying facts; (b) status of the persons concerned; (c) identity of the source of the data; (d) the position expressed by another National Central Bureau or another international entity; (e) obligations under international law; (f) implications for the neutrality of the Organization; (g) the general context of the case.“  Resolution ref. AGN/20/RES/11 (1951) provides that “(…) no request for information, notice of persons wanted and, above all, no request for provisional arrest for offences of a predominantly political (…) character is ever sent to the International Bureau or the NCBs, even if - in the requesting country - the facts amount to an offence against the ordinary law.”  INTERPOL’s Repository of Practice on Article 3 states that “cases involving former politicians wanted by their own countries, the “NCB source may be required to provide evidence, such as personal gain, that the offence comes under ordinary law”.

and it is all the fault of the current incumbent, that he didn't foretell that any promotions for that upcoming 2020 - was going to be all for naught due the CCP

Therefore he should also waive any past waste on the Yingluck promotion of 'thailand 2020' for the same reason

If recent photos of Thaksin are anything to go by, that's an easy mistake to make.

ticking for who? they have multiple visas and loads of money.  funny thing is the thai people would welcome them back with open arms after all these years of mismanagement.

I suppose we should look for the up side of things - were the present government to step down, whoever succeeds will have a brand new 1.3 billion Baht VIP aircraft which could be used to collect her and bring her back. Always supposing that it hasn't been sent on a hastily organised one way flight out of the country of course...

She said that she feels that the graft fighting body is being quite generous to the Government, raising questions among the public regarding the integrity of the NACC.

That's code for corrupted bent as bananas generals puppets ????

A post discussing the monarchy and replies to it have been removed.
