rooster59 Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 "My house is not for sale!" - Thai man goes to the police after for sale sign is posted outside his property Image: Daily News Thirty nine year old Suthonthorn who lives with his partner at a house in the Feuang Fah housing estate in Samut Prakarn got a phone call at work from a neighbor. The neighbor said: I didn't know you were selling up? How much do you want for the house? Suthonthorn said he wasn't moving. Why would he think that? The neighbor said there was a "for sale" sign outside his house - they sent a picture to prove it. It said: Owner is Selling - Cheap Price - Beautiful Home" along with a phone number. Suthonthorn rushed home but the sign had been removed. However another property had the same thing. CCTV showed a man and a woman fixing the sign then taking a picture and hurriedly moving off. Sunthonthorn found two women and a man acting suspiciously nearby and said they were looking for recent renovations to attach a sign to and also take a photo. They claimed they were doing this to estimate the value of the property. He went to the police to file a report fearing that he was the victim of illegal activity. Siwaporn, a representative of The Best property company also filed a report saying that the suspects had used signage with their company logo. She said that this had nothing to do with her company. ezzra Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 If this was a scam perpetrated by crooks they didn't go a about very smartly actually advertising the property with a sign on the property itself, amateurs...
hotchilli Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Another scam in the making, someone advertising different properties for sale that have nothing to do with them. Making a false portfolio. 1
chilly07 Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Yes far too many people going round collecting phone Nos and photographing properties for rent or sale. In our case it's often difficult to identify a so called agent until a tenant becomes interested. We always charge a substantial mark up for an agent than we do for someone who has the gumption to search for the property themselves
