Red bull sells approx 8 billion cans a year through 171 countries.

Seriously doubt 20% of Thai sales will put a dent in their bottom line.

God knows how, i have not seen anyone drinking a red bull for years. Ij fact most shops dont even sell it. Was dissapointed to find out they own Sponser and Moose cider as i do indulge in them ????

That may be true but I somehow doubt that the Ferrari branded murder weapon was paid by his own earned money. He may not work for TCP but he sure knows how to spend TCP money.

The family own the Ferrari dealership in Thailand....he had his choice of several cars....for free no doubt.

Nothing so boring as yesterday's news, this will blow over. In the not too distant future he will be sitting in the head office in Bangkok as if nothing had happened. The policeman's widow will have remarried, her blood money safely invested and the flowers at the policeman's grave will have long since wilted never to be replaced. Nothing is so sure as apathy, nor so powerful as the smell of a crisp 1,000 Baht note.

He wasn't married but am sure the ex-wife was well compensated after claiming they were trying to get back together.

The board members of TCP Group Thailand, 5 of the 6, are Yoovidhya'.....would they lie?

All of them are Yoovidhya, the one who has a different surname is the daughter she has just taken her husbands name.

TCP Group, which owns the Thai Red Bull brand, said it is run by Vorayuth's uncle and not directly associated with Vorayuth, whose father has part ownership in the international Red Bull brand that Chaleo had co-founded with an Austrian partner.

"TCP Group would like to clarify that Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya has never assumed any role in the management and daily operations of TCP Group, was never a shareholder, nor has he held any executive position within TCP Group," the company said in a statement on late Saturday.

But the profits of this group and family members have financed this murderers stay outside the country, have paid-off the family of the deceased, have paid-off the police to not pursue matters and have now paid off whoever was needed to drop the whole case..

S**t stinks and sticks.. distancing themselves isn't working.

Pornanant Klunprasert, brother of the dead police officer, acknowledged in a phone call with AP that he had signed a contract with the Yoovidhya family in 2012 in which the officer’s survivors agreed not to file criminal and civil charges over the death in exchange for 3 million baht (US$94,400) compensation.

Yes but criminal charges were brought by the State. Who collected that suitcase of money, and how much?

$94k is not very much for a life, these days. I think the family should have held out for a lot more.

That's always easy to say when you're on the outside looking in, but we aren't the ones who are dirt poor, lost our primary wage-earner, probably owing massive debts and being pressured by senior police and slick lawyers with a "take it or nothing" offer.

Knowing how the courts can work, they could have gotten nothing after years and more debts.

Thai Red Bull distances itself from hit-and-run case as boycott calls grow

One would think that the family gets their money out of the Red Bull company, right? So who paid for all of Boss’s lawyers and legal costs? For all of his traveling all over the world and staying in five star hotels for years? Not to mention all the many, many big fat brown envelopes that changed hands to make this all go away?

Regardless of how many sports; and teams that Red Bull sponsor; now and in the future;

the " brand" is forever tainted by these sorry events. I am sad to see them so involved in MotoGP.

This chap will be forever known as someone who was not man enough to take ownership of

what he did; and face the proper penalty. For the rest of his life; he is sniffling coward.

I tell everyone I know the story and ask them to choose another energy drink.

I prefer Monster Energy Drink (reg Green can or the Red) but don't see it sold anywhere in Thailand.  Used to drink Red Bull but now buy other brands if I want a boost.
