Hey guys,

I got few questions, just to put all in one post about the new requirements to travel:

1. fit-to-fly

2. certificate: free from covid-19 (with 72 hrs of the flight)

Where to obtain these documents? and how much they cost?

Regarding to return to Thailand, this new so-called $100k insurance,

this kind of insurance to be for 1 year?

or can be 6 or 3 monthts coverage policy?

any one done the above? how much cost each plan?  please share your experice,

The last question: is there any link to register the 90-day report? or shall go to the IO at chang wattana?

Brother ubonjoe, always appreciate your quick and very helpful replies,

Thanks to all in advance!

The fit to fly certificate and etc you mentioned are only required to apply for a certificate of entry at a embassy or official Thai consulate to board a repatriation flight to here. If you are already here you do not have to worry about it now.

The insurance you mentioned must be valid for your allowed stay in the country.

If have not done a 90 day report before it has to done in person or by mail. Chaeng Wattana is not doing 90 day reports now you have to do them at the office located at Muang Thai Thani. Whether you to need to do a 90 report in August may depend upon your status for staying in the country. There is confusing info about it at at this time.

Thanks brother, let me give you and idea about the situation, for a better advise,

Actually, the current non-o visa was expired on the 27th April,

still covered by the amnesty till the 26th Sept.

planning to fly to Paris around the middle of Spet. then return back in Nov.

As per the news posted in this forum that Thai immigration encouraging foreigners to Non-o and similar to do their 90-day, update the location, inline with this I'm thinking to do this, as usual I do my visa papers at chang wattana, but since this covid-19 didn't visit there,

Also, I tried to renew my driving licenses (car+bike) went to the land department, they told me to extend my visa to be able to renew my licenses, other papers at hand already, so I will make the entension at the first week of Sept for the purpose to renew my drive licenses,

my questions:

1. do I need to make the 90-day repot in this case? if possible online would be perfect option,

2. do I need fit-to-fly, and free from covid-19 certificates to fly to europe most likely by AirFrance or KLM airlines, if so, where to obtain these documents? any idea how much the cost?

3. the new $100k insurance, this to be for how long? if apply for non-o, normally 3 months duration, then make the 1 year extension, is possible to be for 3 months, or 6 months? how much cost?

So, that's about the situation and relevant questions,

Thanks again for your kind efforts and being helpful to this community, very much appreciated!

Not sure what you mean by visa papers. Were you applying for extensions of stay? Was it a one year extension or a 60 day extension to visit your Thai wife or child.

1. It is not required according to the ministerial notice that was extended to September 26th.

2, It is not required to leave Thailand. You only have to meet the requirements to enter the country you are traveling to.

3. The insurance is only needed at this time to apply for a certificate of entry at a embassy. Not needed for anything you do here.

Yes, I do my visa extensions and 90-day at chang wattana,

current one is 3 months non-0, expired in late April, which under the announced amnesty,

I may need to do the next extension of 60 days arund the first week of Spet. for the reason to ewnew the driving licenses, as they I visited the land and transport departement  recently, they told me that the current amnesty is for staying purpose only, to be able to renew the DL must make a new extension,

So, I dont need even to do the 90-day (as long as is not required) and will leave the country around the middle of Sept.

Still only one thing to have an idea about is the cost of the $100k insurance when applying non-o in late Oct. or Nov.

I hope this item will be ignored by that time,  most of us are finacially stressed enough specially who supporting a family and kids at private school etc.

Try to understand that no one knows when inbound commercial flights will be allowed, and how long the current restrictions will be in effect. "Maybe" the only way to come back in November will still be on repatriation flights. How long will they ask for a $100,000 insurance? Same answer,no one knows. Today they are ok with a travel insurance covering Covid-19 for the period of time you're in Thailand. If you really have to leave, you might have to stay away for quite awhile, but again, no one knows.

There is also an amnesty on renewing driving license (my wife was told) till the end of OCT  you can not renew a license without a *current* visa, and residence letter from immigration or yellow book, always has been that.

If you want to say that people under the amnesty can't renew their license: This is wrong.

Yes, this is true guys, i can confirm this to you, I went to the land and transport department opposite jatujak, and they told me must make an extension of current visa, and she added, the amnesty visa is just for staying, this is surething I confronted by myself, not sure if the staff told me correct or in other places they may have different policy etc,

The certificate of residence which immigration in Chiang Mai issues states that the person is allowed to stay until 26th September (if the person is under the amnesty). It was no problem to extend the driving license with it.

Does the certificate of residence which you got in Bangkok not state this?

I guess this is part of the issue, if you wanted to use a yellow book as proof of residence you would run into the same problem.

You don't have any official document stating that you are in Thailand legally. If you would use a certificate of residence from Thai immigration, then this would state that you are in Thailand legally and it would satisfy the DLT's requirement.
